"Friendly Staff and Good Food, Needs Better Communication"
The move-in process needs some work. We're still waiting for her TV to be fixed so she can watch more than a couple of channels. It would be great to have someone help show the ropes and check in. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and answers all questions. The food is nutritious and balanced. I think it would be good if they checked in to let us know how they see her doing. Based on my interactions with the staff, I feel mostly comfortable saying I would recommend American House.

"Friendly Staff and Good Care, Recommended Assisted Living Facility"
The people who work here are really nice. The nurses are great and always keep me informed if there are any problems. The cleaning of the rooms is okay. Moving in was easy. My Dad seems to like the food, and he can be choosy. Sometimes the staff can seem a bit hurried, but that happens everywhere. Overall, I would tell other people to think about living here.

"Positive experience with professional staff, noted turnover, good community environment."
They were professional and kind. It was our first visit. Concerned about high staff turnover but overall a good community. Appreciated the thorough tour and discussion.

"Declining Assisted Living Facility: Dirty, Short-Staffed and Neglected"
This spot is just laughable. I can't figure out exactly what's happening, but this establishment is quickly sinking! It's appalling and dirty! We can't find any staff! Nobody calls back! It looks like they're probably selling the property because they're not even attempting to fill the vacant positions and now there's a whole agency present. They have barely 1 or 2 superintendents, no way you can maintain a place like this!

"Significant Deterioration in Care and Management at American House"
My grandma shifted to American House a year ago. We picked it for its friendly atmosphere, staff, and cleanliness. But now, it's just the opposite. The entire staff has left and the management team we liked is gone too. They've been replaced by cold-hearted people who don't seem fit to take care of our elders. Even the good care staff was replaced with unqualified workers. My grandma once had the cleaning ladies acting as her caregivers for a night! Is this even legal? Are they trained to provide care? If you got a problem, don't expect to talk to the Executive Director. She never returns calls and leaves as early as 3 pm! Today, I tried to get hold of her but she had left by 2 pm! How can she manage a place without being there often? We feel terrible that my grandma lives here and we're now forced to move her to ensure her care and proper communication, which is currently not there.

"American House Corporate Abandons Financial Promises to Elderly."
American House Corporate is absurd! They promised elderly folks like my mom that after 2 years of paying the high, private fee, they could switch to a cheaper program based on income. But after my mom used all her savings paying for American House, some stranger who's never even been to the place decided she had to leave. We could've used her savings in a different place where Medicaid could've helped her. But now, that's not an option and my mom has nothing left. How could everyone let this happen? The managers all quit because they hated what the company made them do. People are saying they got fired, but the truth is just as bad - they couldn't stomach it, same as me.

"Unhappy Reviewer Blames New Management for Facility's Downfall"
Not sure what's going on at this assisted living facility, but it's really gone downhill. My grandma used to be so content and well-cared for, but now she's having a tough time getting the help she needs. Over the past month, the staffing has been the worst I've ever seen. I get that it's hard everywhere, but the new Director came in and fired everyone. She's mean and clearly doesn't know her job. The new staff is just sour. They even made promises years back with a program called "Peace of Mind" that was based on income, and then just yanked the program away. Folks were told that after 2 years they would be able to use this program, but the company lied! It's really gross!

"American House Deteriorates: Poor Staff, Terrible Management and Neglected Residents"
American House was once a top-notch place. I don't know anyone there currently because they all come from some hiring agency, and they just don't seem to care. Their new Executive Director is the worst person I've ever met and their team isn't much better. Everybody is new on the scene, the food is inferior, and the residents are unkempt and neglected. Eight months ago, when my dad moved there, it was welcoming and the staff was fantastic, but that's all changed. The only solution is to let the new, terrible Executive Director go and plead with the old management to return so it becomes a nice place again.

"Rudely Treated Residents at Expensive Assisted Living Facility"
The new managers at this assisted living facility are terrible! No one answers my calls, and the new top boss acts awfully rude. Things weren't like this before; everyone was nice and helpful. Nowadays, there's a new problem all the time. The most recent one? My mom and her friends can't sit in front of the common area fireplace anymore. They love hanging out and chatting there. This older woman who works there, and who could easily be a resident herself due to her age, is the one giving them a hard time. This is my mom's home. She and her friends pay lots of money each month to live here. Who is this woman to tell them they can't be in certain areas? It's really upsetting.

"Dangerous Decline at American House under New Management"
I'd give zero stars if I could to American House. We have a new administration now and things are heading south fast! I'm getting my mom out of here ASAP because I'm worried about her safety. They're understaffed and the new management, including the new director and this lady, don't seem to care about any issues. Before, the staff was warm and caring, but now it's the total opposite. It's tough to even find a nurse or aide to talk about problems. The previous team, who were wonderful in taking care of my mom, are gone, replaced by folks who don't care to help. Please don't send anyone you love here!

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Service and Communication"
My relative lives there, and lately, the service is bad. They can't keep any help in the kitchen or clinic. Instead of chef-prepared meals, they serve hotdogs, pizza, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Once, I saw two medical assistants lounging with their feet up, texting on their phones. When my family member got sick and went to the ER, no one told me. I had to bring them food and drink when they got back. When they fell and used the emergency button, they waited 30 minutes for help. If you're considering this place, talk to residents without employees around for the real story.

"Not the Right Fit, But Recommended"
I really liked American House Macedonia. They had many good things, but I realized that what I liked wasn't exactly what my loved one liked. It just wasn't the best place for her, but I would still tell others it's a good choice.

"Care Facility Fails Alzheimer’s Patient and Family"
Our stay at the care center wasn’t great. When our mom moved into the place for people with memory issues, we noticed the workers didn’t really know what they were doing with someone who has Alzheimer’s. Mom didn’t get any help or guidance. She started to get skinnier, got sick a lot, and began acting out because nobody was watching out for her. The people there just couldn’t take care of someone with Alzheimer’s, which is not the same as other memory problems. At first, the bosses seemed to care when I talked about what was happening. But they didn’t do anything they said they would. In the end, they didn’t even listen to our worries.
