"Mixed Experience: Friendly Staff, Issues with Medication and Meals"
The people who work there are really nice, but it's tough to get things done. They've accidentally gone into my relative's apartment super early to give medicine to the wrong person. We didn't even ask for help with meds, but they were charging us for it. The food isn't good at all, and my dad has been losing weight because they sometimes forget to bring him dinner, even though we're paying for it. We might have to find another way to get meals. It's been a while, but they're still making mistakes, like with the meds yesterday. It's frustrating. My husband has been fixing stuff around the place because they can't seem to get anyone else to do it. On the bright side, the staff is friendly, and the apartment is nice, with a big balcony and a nice view. And the driver, [name removed], is really great and takes good care of my dad when he goes to work.

"Terrible Care and Theft Experienced at Assisted Living Facility"
Her washcloths had been discarded instead of cleaned, and her towels were repeatedly cut up. All of her silverware, gifts from her wedding set for 8 people, has virtually vanished. She originally had 16 forks; now only 1 fork, 1 spoon, 0 teaspoons, and 3 soup spoons remain. The facility lacks respect for her property, seemingly helping themselves to it. When confronted, the manager just laughed and said this kind of thing happens often. Additionally, the lock from her storage locker was removed and her walker was stolen. Although the administration claimed an inventory was done on unmarked lockers during COVID, her name tag was still on her locker like the others, implying theft and dishonesty. Multiple video footage shows her being dropped with no reparations or apologies from the management. They only reached out to my brother, who was out of town and unable to assist. We were even uninformed of her doctor's appointments. Although she had surveillance cameras, these incidents still occurred. To top it off, they denied the events caught on film...

"Responsive staff, quick move-in, social activities, satisfied resident with food."
They've been really quick to help, moving Mom in fast. There's lots to do here, like happy hours. She needed friends, and this place is perfect for her. Each floor has a friendly ambassador, a great idea. They even took her out to dinner when she arrived. They're great at helping new folks settle in. And Mom loves the food here, too.

"Assisted Living Delights Residents with Food and Activities"
This place is really worth the cost, much better than nursing homes. I find it quite good. The staff are nice to deal with. My loved one really enjoys the food, it's like dining at a fancy hotel. They have different activities every day for residents. Some include basket weaving, games, happy hour, and more.

"Great Place, But Not the Right Fit for Us"
This assisted living place is really pretty and has fun things to do and great apartments. But it’s not the best match for us because we need an apartment on the ground floor and a place to park our car that’s covered.

"Memory Care Facility Review: Needs Improvement"
Make sure to inquire about the staff’s training and the number of staff per patient. Find out what extra features are provided in memory care, besides just having locked doors, that make the cost worthwhile. I had trouble talking with the staff and I wouldn’t suggest this place to other people.

"Good staff and care food and views could improve"
My parents are happy with Barrington of Oakley. The food is okay but doesn’t have much variety, and there isn’t much of a view. The staff is great and has been keeping my brother and me informed during the quarantine. The head nurse has been very helpful and positive. My dad enjoyed the activities before the quarantine started.

"Pleasant Visit, Not the Fit for Specific Needs"
I visited this place and it was nice, with kind people all around. It was a really good visit and everything went smoothly. The place looked neat and tidy. The folks working there were super nice. Everything was just fine, but it turned out this place wasn’t the right one for my husband’s special needs.

"Tour Went Well, But Not Ideal for Husband"
I had a nice tour of this place, and everyone was friendly. It was a positive experience, and I didn't encounter any issues. The community seemed well-maintained, and the staff was kind. Everything went smoothly, but unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for my husband and his needs.

"Mixed Living Arrangements"
My tour of the Barrington went well. The place was nice and so were the people, but we didn’t like that the assisted living and independent living residents were all mixed together. We wanted a place where things were set up for different levels of care. It was not the place for my father.

"Avoid Barrington of Oakley, Appearance Over Care"
Our time with the Barrington of Oakley was a disaster. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Just a week after my relative moved in, she landed in the hospital with a broken hip. The workers there insist she didn't fall, and no one can explain how she got hurt. She couldn't have gotten up on her own with such a bad injury. So, someone didn't tell us about it. They've been hard to work with, not helpful, and unfriendly whenever I've tried to learn what happened. The place looks great, but I wish they'd spent more money on training the staff better.

"Liked the location! It's r..."
Really liked the location! It's super close to my sister's place and our gym. After the tour, I just drove over for a workout—no need for two trips. The place surprised me—it looked and smelled pleasant, just like Mallard Cove. The big 2-bedroom apartment had a fantastic balcony. Plus, it's easier to find than Mallard Cove, though a bit pricier. Excitingly, today is their Reds game day, which is a bonus. Fingers crossed for good weather!

"Great Facility, Good Location, Friendly Staff"
The facility looks wonderful, and it is in a good location. It is well-staffed, clean, and comfortable. Parking is hard to find and limited. There are no semi-private rooms available. I went on two tours of the facility, and both times were great. They answered all my questions.

"Clean New Facility Without Dementia Unit"
This place is new and clean. They don't have a unit just for people with dementia. Everyone lives together. How do I feel about that?

"Cozy Living Space with Amenities, Great Cost Information Available"
This place is really nice and comfy to live in. They have a small but nice garden. There's also a room for activities, a chapel, a game room, workout stuff, and even a hair salon. It would be even better if all of these were on one floor, but it's not a big deal. They gave me good info about how much everything costs, and they also told me about the different kinds of care they offer if I need it later.

"Friendly Staff, But Pricey for Mom's Budget"
The people working there were really nice and helpful, and they were ready to help me with anything I asked for. But it was a little too expensive for what my mom can afford.
