"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Care and Communication"
The care and nursing support we expected weren't fulfilled. I didn't find the aides particularly impressive; many seemed unwilling. However, a few nurses did stand out as genuinely caring for their patients. I can't recommend this place right now. They need to improve their care and communication with families.

"Mixed Experience at Barrington Assisted Living: Great Ambiance, Lacking Care"
Barrington's apartments are nice and people are friendly. The front desk and activities director were especially kind. But, we noticed a big difference between the general staff and nursing staff. The assisted living program seemed lacking, mostly due to management. We had to move my loved one because of lack of attention and care. We didn't feel like we were part of a team. This was a learning experience; maybe we didn't fully understand my loved one's needs. Barrington has strengths but lacks in assisted living. It seems like the community is changing, but not the assisted living side. It would have been great for my loved one years ago when she was more independent. I wouldn't recommend it for those needing advanced care; try somewhere else based on our experience. It's good for independent living and younger residents.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Mixed Experience During Lockdown"
During the virus lockdown, I've been stuck here for about 5 months. I'm disappointed because they don't have any doctors or therapy here. The food was good at first, but now it's not so good since they started delivering it. They don't have a dietitian, so it's not very nutritious. My apartment does have a balcony, a washer, and a dryer, so that's nice. Overall, I'm just waiting for things to open back up.

"Apartment and Medication Access Disappoints"
I visited Barrington and it looked pretty good. But, I wasn’t happy because the only empty apartment was tucked away in a corner, and my family member would have had to go down the stairs on her own to pick up her medicine, instead of someone delivering it to her room. It just didn’t feel right for us.

"Barrington's Broken Promises Causing Financial and Emotional Struggles"
I strongly urge anyone trying to find a home for their loved ones to thoroughly research before signing any contract at Barrington of West Chester. They evaluated our mom before accepting her and told us they could totally care for her. Besides the monthly charge, there's a $5,000 deposit that you can't get back. After just a few weeks, they realized they couldn't meet her needs after all and told us we needed to find her a new place to live. At the same time, they requested that we provide around-the-clock care while she stayed at their place. Since we all work, we had to employ Visiting she , which was another big extra cost on top of what we were already paying. We thought that under these conditions, they would automatically offer to return the $5,000 deposit, but they just reminded us that it was non-refundable. It was an already emotional time that turned into an absolute nightmare, causing a major financial strain on the family. I wouldn't just not recommend this place - I would seriously advise against taking a loved one there. The facility itself is stunning, but our experience was terrible. They're seriously understaffed.

"Diverse Care Options in Pleasant Community Tour with Friendly Staff"
This tour was pleasant. The staff was kind and friendly. They lacked a ground floor option, which concerned us knowing the layout and our preference against elevators. We felt unsafe due to the layout. This community offers various care options. Families should tour for the diverse resident care available.
