"Assisted Living Facility Lacks Specialty Staff for Dementia Patients"
This place isn't set up for dementia patients. They don't have a doctor, psychiatrist, or psychologist on staff.

"Poor Care and Money Focus at Chestnut Hill Assisted Living"
Stay far away from Chestnut Hill. It got sold to new owners, Our Home New Albany. I wouldn’t suggest them to anyone. They’re all about making money and don’t really care for people. Plus, they don’t take Medicare or Medicaid waivers—only private pay. If you run out of money, you’re on your own.

"Areas for Improvement in Assisted Living Community"
The assisted living facility appears somewhat disorganized, but overall, it's a pleasant community with room for improvement.

Our family visited in person, met friendly staff, and had a great tour experience. Almost 5 stars!

"Caring Staff and Medicaid Support"
When we toured the facility, one standout feature was their willingness to accept Medicaid funding if a resident runs out of private pay. The staff were incredibly friendly, treating residents with respect. They went above and beyond to make my family member feel at home.

"Billing Confusion at Assisted Living Facility"
Some of the staff were really nice and took good care of people. But the billing is confusing and tricks a lot of older folks. They should report these practices to the attorney general's office.

"Nice Place, But Too Large"
I visited this community, and it was really nice! But it felt too big for my loved one; he would've been overwhelmed.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I think they're going through management changes. It's hard to reach them sometimes, especially for maintenance requests. The nursing staff is great and responds quickly. The dining experience is okay, but she's struggling to adjust to the available options.

"Night Staff Needs Improvement"
The nighttime care could be better; it’s not as good as during the day.

"Lackluster Management and Communication at Assisted Living Facility"
Before the pandemic, this place got new managers who didn't communicate well. During COVID, it got worse. We know COVID was unexpected, but some managers didn't seem to care. It made us wonder why they chose healthcare and leadership. They seemed more concerned about money than residents' well-being, even remodeling while residents felt isolated. Our family member died after COVID restrictions eased, but management didn't offer condolences or help. The caregivers were changing often, but many were good, they just didn't stay because of low pay. These are some main points because we're still grieving. Advice: Research thoroughly before choosing this place for a loved one.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
This place might work for independent folks, but not for those needing help. Communication was poor, often unreachable. Nurses ignored requests and disregarded doctors' orders. Wouldn't recommend based on my experience.

"Inadequate Staff and Poor Management at Assisted Living Facility"
Our time at this assisted living facility wasn't great and my mom didn't get the kind of care she needed. We ran into problems with the people in charge, like the director and the top nurse. However, the helpers were really nice. I'd advise anyone who has a family member that can do a lot by themselves, they might not find it as bad as we did. However, if your loved one needs help with stuff like eating, getting dressed, or taking a bath, then this isn't the right place. They don't have enough people working there, and the staff changes frequently. They also had a big covid outbreak and kept it secret from us. We decided to move my mom elsewhere and she's been doing much better. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone who's looking.

"Terrible Experience: Neglect, Theft, and Poor Care at Chestnut Hill"
Despite promises, this place didn't look after my Mom properly. Her care has been badly lacking from the start. They quoted us a wrong price, and couldn't explain the charges clearly. My Mom has Parkinson's and needs therapy to ensure she can move. In the 5 months since she's been there, her mobility has really dropped. She's having trouble walking on her own now. They won't help her with everyday tasks and often ignore my messages. Our family doctor and even our dog's vet had to reach out and make sure her dog gets his medicine. We've discovered stolen clothes, gift cards, groceries, and jewelry. Worse, there was a small growth on my Mom's chest that got ignored until it grew really big and started bleeding. We had it looked at by a Dermatologist and found out it was squamous cell carcinoma! Can you believe they wouldn't even let me know? Only workers and residents are allowed inside. I'm going to call the state and get them to investigate as soon as I can move my Mom somewhere safer. They've really hurt my Mom's emotional health. I hope that being around family can help her. Another family I've known for a long time is also facing problems here. It's really sad that old folks have to suffer because of those who're supposed to care for them. Chestnut Hill Senior Living in Gahanna, Ohio, you should be ashamed!
