"Nice staff, but poor initial assessment caused issues"
The pros: The staff are very nice and respectful to my parents. They really seem to care about their overall well-being. They have activities, and if my mom doesn't go, they ask if she wants to join. They're very willing to work with us, and any issues we've had, they've willingly taken care of. At the beginning, I had to fight for some things. They were supposed to help with showers twice a week, but they were only doing it once a week, so my parents had to manage on their own the rest of the time. The hardest thing was they accepted my father based on his condition at the time. During his stay, their staff found he had a problem needing surgery and rehab. That discovery was lifesaving, and I'm very grateful to them for it. But now they're saying they can't take him back after his rehab stay. I feel like they didn't do a realistic assessment upfront, and they admit they probably shouldn't have taken him in the first place. This is disheartening because the move was to keep my parents together. I wish they had done a more thorough assessment and been more transparent so we could have made a better decision.

"Brookdale Montrose: A no-go for memory care needs"
I wouldn't suggest anyone go to Brookdale Montrose. They just can't handle folks with memory problems.

"Mom's Happy Home: Comfortable, Secure, and Welcoming"
Brookdale has been really helpful and has given us everything they promised. Mom feels safe there - I think they take good care of her. She really enjoys the food. Her apartment is nice - lots of space and closets. The kitchen could use some updates and a fresh coat of paint would be nice. Overall, it's a good place.

"Maintenance Concerns and Age Influence Choice at Brookdale Montrose"
My tour at Brookdale Montrose was okay. As someone who handles maintenance, I noticed it wasn't as well maintained as another place I considered, and it's not as modern.

"Great Place for Your Loved Ones"
This place is really nice and kept up well in a great location. Everyone is very caring about the residents. They are good people, and it’s a comfortable place for your mom or dad. They have activities, but my loved one hasn't joined in yet. However, they try hard to get everyone involved and keep them active. I don’t know how they could be much better.

"Brookdale: Mixed Feelings"
Brookdale seemed old, dim, and sad. It needs community updates. The different care levels were a nice bonus.

"Understaffed facility struggles with dementia care"
My family member didn't stay there long because her memory problems were worse than they could handle. She even got out a few times. Now she's at a different Brookdale place that's better for memory issues. At first, I worried, but they said they could take care of her until her memory got worse. But I think they don't have enough staff, especially at night. It's not really their fault – this is happening everywhere.
