"Loved One Adjusts Well at Richmond Heights Place"
The staff at Richmond Heights Place is okay. I wish they’d check on my loved one more often, ideally once a week. He rarely leaves his room, but I’d like to see him going down to the dining room for meals. Overall, my loved one seems to be doing fine at Richmond Heights Place.

"Disappointing Care and Hidden Costs at Richmond Heights Place"
I would rate Richmond Heights Place lower than one star if I could. I'd advise against sending anyone there. The quality dropped so quickly that we were forced to move my family member to another place. At first, they explain that as someone's dementia gets worse, they'll need full care. What they don't tell you is that this results in your monthly bill climbing by an unspecified amount. The staff just lets people sit on their own, which is a shameful waste of the money being paid.

"Friendly but lacking; cold meals, minimal activities, unclean rooms."
Staff nice but not helpful. Food bland, often cold. Few activities.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom moved to Independent living last June but was moved to Memory Care this June. They're raising the rates, but we don't know why because the promised services never happen. The front door of Independent living doesn't have a lock. It broke this summer and hasn't been fixed, so anyone can get in. If they're short staffed, meals are late, and there's no one to serve them. In Memory Care, they claim to clean the room and provide laundry service, but that's not true. Her room hasn't been cleaned since she moved in, so we have to clean it. We also have to do her laundry, towels, and bedding because no one has ever come to do it. Most of the furniture in the common area could use a good cleaning too. As for the rate increase of $XXX.XX coming in January, they say it's because staff wages have increased 15-22%, but I doubt the staff have actually gotten a raise like that! So if you think it sounds too good to be true.

"Good care, convenient location, but needed skilled nursing quickly"
They did the best they could. My mother’s dementia changed quickly in the last few months, which surprised both our family and the staff. They tried to help her with memory care, but she needed skilled nursing within about 5 weeks. Overall, I would suggest them to others. Both my mother and my aunt were happy she was there. She had been there for rehab before, and it was a great location for our family.

"Great Community with Engaged Staff and Clean, Spacious Rooms"
This is a small community with staff available all day, every day. They keep the residents busy with many activities. The place itself is really nice, with spacious and clean living areas. They even put a sticker on each door to show when housekeeping will come to clean the private rooms. My loved one enjoys the food, and they’re usually pretty picky.

"Unfriendly Staff, Dirty Environment: Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"
This place is really dirty, and the people who work here are not friendly. Nobody smiles or says hello. My Aunt and I didn't like it at all.

"Lackluster Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"
This place isn't like Brookdale Mentor. It needs fixing up. Paint is coming off, and walls have marks on them. The people who work here don't seem interested or friendly.

"Unprofessional Staff and Poor Service in Assisted Living Facility"
The staff and nurses at this assisted living facility have absolutely no manners. I will never again bring my mom or dad here. We came here for rehab, and I was let-down by the whole operation: nurses were ill-mannered, unmotivated and did not act professionally. This was particularly true of the head nurse. The entire place is managed poorly, with staff that simply aren't up to the task. They seemed completely unaware of the proper ways to care and treat patients.

"Rude Staff and Chaos at Five-Star Assisted Living Facility"
The nurses here are extremely impolite, particularly the ADCS. She always treats family members poorly, whether they approach her in person or over the phone to check on their relatives. The whole nursing team appears to be in constant chaos and lacks organization. Honestly, I'm confused about how they ever got a five-star rating.

"Poor staff training and false claims spoil Brookdale experience"
We relocated my mom to this facility due to her dementia and because they permitted her to have her cherished dog. Regrettably, after eight weeks, we had to find another center. The staff members are lackadaisical and ill-prepared for dementia patients, despite their claims. The onsite medical support was subpar at best. The head manager departed just as we were moving our mom out. I would strongly advise others to avoid this facility. Seek out a facility that truly specializes in memory care instead of just claiming they do. Luckily, my mom’s currently at a much superior center, although her dog couldn’t join her. However, she no longer recalls having a pet. Therefore, ensure that you prioritize the needs of your loved ones. Brookdale, with all their locations, is definitely not the right choice!
