"Brookdale Negligent and Cold: More Profit Driven than Caring"

We weren't fans of Brookdale. It didn't feel like a loving place. It seemed like their main focus was making money, they just didn't seem bothered about people. They put her in a room in a chilly corner. There was no heating and hardly any interaction with other folks living there. She had a stomach ache and needed something to soothe it. I was with her, and we waited for over two hours but nobody showed up. They didn't even bring the ginger ale she'd had previously.

"Expensive Living Facility With Poor Quality and Bad Communication"

This facility charged excessively for the level of care they offered. The Brookdale Wooster community should not admit more residents than they can effectively manage. The staff also deserve better treatment and the communication needs serious improvements.

"Assisted Living Disappoints: Overcharges and Underwhelms with Care"

Don't bother with this place. It looks nice and all, and they talk a good game, but they're not really taking care of Mom like they're supposed to. Plus, they're asking for way too much money. It seems like they charge for every little thing, which doesn't seem fair. They should just do their job properly without trying to squeeze every penny out of us.

"Neglected Residents, Chaos and Mismanagement at Assisted Living Facility"

If you're seeking care for a loved one, I'd suggest you keep looking. My relative was located in the memory care section and there were always people aimlessly wandering about. One resident in particular was known for aggressive behavior and was a constant annoyance to the others. Despite complaints, the staff didn't do much to remedy the issue. The lack of adequate staff became a serious problem such that they had to hire extra help from an agency. I requested a transfer for my family member to a regular assisted living environment when his condition improved a bit. However, my request was denied. On top of that, he barely ate because visitors weren't allowed in the dining area and he found mealtimes to be disorganized. From the beginning, I made it clear that I was responsible for purchasing his medications yet they continually billed me for them. Even after repeated attempts, I was never reimbursed. Anytime I raised an issue or lodged a complaint, it seemed to fall on deaf ears. The overall experience was quite disappointing. They really need a facility designated for those in the early stages of memory loss and another for those in advanced stages. Their scoring system concerning residents' care doesn't accurately reflect where an individual is in terms of their progress or deterioration.

"Friendly Staff, High Costs, Clean Environment"

The staff is friendly and client-focused. Costs are high, but the dining area is pleasant. Care services could improve due to staffing challenges, but overall, it’s a clean place.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"

The staff is kind, but they need more help. Food wasn’t great, but rooms were spacious. Outdoor activities were secure. Brookdale hospice was a positive experience.

"Cost Concerns and Communication Issues at Assisted Living Facility"

For the cost, I could consider Apostolic Home and donate instead, as she's Apostolic. Disappointed that [name removed] didn't return my call.

"Disappointed with Corporate Brookdale's Handling of Assisted Living Facility"

Very unhappy with how things are done by Corporate Brookdale. Firstly, my dad lived at Brookdale Wooster. They were supposed to provide room, board, and nursing care. One Sunday, Corporate Brookdale called me and said my dad needed home health care. I asked why. The nurse said it was for education on his medical issues and personal care, and that he needed physical therapy. I asked again why. The nurse said it would make him safer because he uses a walker. My son, who is a physical therapist, checked my dad and said he didn't need more physical therapy. I, being a nurse, agreed that the nursing services weren't necessary either. But Corporate Brookdale kept insisting it wouldn't cost anything because it would be filed to his insurance. I told them we didn't want it, but they kept calling and sending forms. Secondly, I told Brookdale my dad was moving out and gave 30 days' notice. His charges are paid by autopay, so I asked them to cancel it before he moved out on the 7th. The administrator said she would cancel it, but they still withdrew the money. I told them a week ago, and they still haven't given the money back, even though we have a credit balance on this month's bill. This is not okay. We liked the staff at Wooster Brookdale, but Corporate Brookdale's actions are questionable.

"Short-staffed but caring; accessibility issues."

Staff shortages, hard to locate help, but caring staff overall.

"Unpleasant Assisted Living Experience"

The place is really messy. The old lady cries a lot and doesn't like being here. The staff hardly talks to her. The caregivers are friendly but slow to respond. And the boss? Well, they're just plain rude.

"Great care and friendly staff in a new facility"

My dad stayed here for 3 weeks until a spot opened up in another place. As a nurse, I thought this place was great. The staff were really attentive, and the facility was nice and almost brand new. It seemed like a good fit for him since it was a farm community, and he found people he could relate to and made some friends. I was happy with the care he got during his stay.
