"Lacking Support After Move-In"
The place was nice at first, but they didn't help much after we moved in. Overall, not too thrilled with them.

"Understaffed Ohio Brookdale Disappoints, Family to Complain"
We chose Ohio's Brookdale based on my good experience with Brookdale in Washington state. But, it turned out to be a big disappointment; we had to shift our mother somewhere else in less than two months. Their staff-to-resident ratios weren't suitable for memory care. We're planning to write a detailed letter to Brookdale's main office about our grievances.”

"Friendly Staff and Great Place!"
The staff were really nice, and the place was great. I'd suggest it to others.

"Good staff-to-patient ratio, friendly staff, needs more activities"
The number of staff to patients is better than most places. The staff are friendly and do a good job. To improve activities, they could have someone come in to sing or perform songs. They could also have a pet visit regularly. There is a church service every week, but it's in the main area, not the memory care unit. That's probably okay since they would likely only enjoy the music part.

"Friendly community with home-like atmosphere and great staff"
The community is very friendly and helpful to the residents and families. It feels more like a home than a nursing home. The staff is great about answering my questions and concerns. Some activities available include church, music, crafts, and more for the residents to choose from. My loved one seems happy with the meals. There are a couple of choices per meal, and my loved one really enjoys the desserts offered. Housekeeping, laundry, care, the apartment, utilities, and changing of linens are included in the monthly fee. I do provide snacks that my loved one enjoys.

"Great Care, Needs Better Communication"
This is a good place for a loved one to be cared for. Whenever I have any problems, they usually fix them quickly. I think communication could be better, but they take good care of my loved one, and he likes the staff and the care he gets.

"Brookdale Assisted Living: Caring Staff, COVID Vigilance, Staffing Challenges"
I've mostly liked Brookdale. The staff cares, and Mom feels safe. They're careful with covid rules and quarantines. The director is responsive and accessible to families. Staff shortages cause issues but they try hard. Memory care needs more engagement staff.

"Neglected Loved One Endures Poor Hygiene and Neglected Rashes"
This place is terrible. I was forced to relocate my loved one due to severe rashes they never told me about. She had these awful, painful, rashes under her arms, chest, and stomach that smelled bad and was yeasty. The only way I found out about it was during a doctor's appointment I scheduled to go over her strange behavior. It turns out, she had a urinary tract infection and her medicines needed adjusting. When I collected her, her cleanliness was appalling - she reeked like she hadn't been bathed in quite a while. In my books, that's plain neglect. I got her out of there fast and into another home.
