Brooklyn Pointe (Opening Fall 2018)

"Misleading promises, slow Medicaid process, disappointed caretakers at facility."
Be cautious and don't trust easily. The place might seem perfect, but lies emerge soon. If you're considering a Medicaid-certified facility, be prepared to wait around a year. And if you care for your loved one, the neighboring facility won't suffice. It's unfair how these places take advantage of desperate caretakers seeking safety. You'll face a tough learning experience placing your loved one here, and by then, it might be too late. You'll end up disappointed, broke, and emotionally drained.

"“Friendly Staff and Good Food at Brooklyn Pointe”"
My dad lives at Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care. He likes it there. The staff is friendly to everyone, and the food is good. Moving in was easy. We’ve had only a few issues. I’d tell my family and friends about this place.

"Brooklyn Point: Caring Staff Makes a Difference"
The folks at Brooklyn Point really care about the residents. You can feel it all around. The staff who helped move my loved one’s furniture mentioned that their grandparents live in a different place, and the employees there don’t seem to care as much. I’d say the staff and care level here at Brooklyn Pointe is about a 4 or 5. And let me tell you about the amazing staff! When I was trying to put new risers under my loved one’s adjustable bed, I couldn’t manage it alone. A kitchen staff member saw me struggling and came over to help, along with two other staff members. They’re just genuinely nice people." .

"Bright Community with Great Activities and Good Value"
Brooklyn Pointe is a bright, appealing place that our loved one really liked, which is why we chose it. The activities are amazing, and there are lots of things for residents to do to stay busy. The meals are good and have no issues with quality. However, they could improve snack options for people with diabetes or other dietary needs. For example, during bowling, the only snack available is chocolate. Overall, the value for the money is excellent, and we would definitely recommend this place to other families.

"Assisted Living Falls Short in Meeting Loved One's Needs"
My family member's medicine changes weren't handled well here. They aren't taking care of my loved one properly. The staff seems friendly, but it's just not working out.

"A Comfortable Home for Loved Ones"
It feels like walking into a cozy home. There's a lovely living room with a baby grand piano playing music. The studio apartment is just right, with a little kitchen area. My loved one felt at home right away. The activities, like music and outings, keep everyone engaged. The menu-style food is a hit. Our family knows she's safe here. I recommend Brooklyn Pointe.

"Beware of Low Initial Pricing at Assisted Living Facility"
The price for care at this assisted living facility seemed off because it was just $1200 while every other place charged double that. I didn't understand why. Then, I was told to read up about Meridian, the company that runs the place. It seems they build these facilities, fill them up, and then they jack up the prices. Leaves you in a tough spot with the new rates. Plus, [name removed] is currently out due to COVID. I was really looking forward to this place, but knowing all this just breaks my heart. I can't bear the thought of moving my dad from California into such a chaotic situation.

"Lack of Compassion at Brooklyn Pointe"
If your loved one stays at Brooklyn Pointe and, unfortunately, passes away, don't count on receiving a card or a phone call. My mom lived there for almost a year. When she passed in early November, I didn't hear a single word from them no phone call, email, or card. Not so nice.

"A Well-Organized Assisted Living Community with Great Memory Care"
I like their memory care. The food is great, and residents look forward to it every day. Staff doesn't chat much but answers questions. The community seems understaffed. They offer lots of activities like bingo, artwork, movies, and exercise for memory care residents. Artwork is shared on Facebook. It's more organized than my loved one's previous community. I wish they included mental health counseling. The community is beautifully decorated.
