"Excellent Care for My Father"
They take really good care of my dad. I don't know about the food or other things because I'm not there when I bring him to respite care. But from what I can see, they really look after him well, and I would tell others to go there.

"Decline in Quality and Care Noted at Local Assisted Living Facility"
The quality of this place has sadly decreased. The former director and head nurse, who were extremely experienced and competent, did a great job managing the facility. But when they left, the quality just started to decline. I think the company isn't that great since they seem unable to retain quality staff. From what I can tell, many people there, even the nurses, don't have enough knowledge about dementia. The boss claims they can offer adequate care, but they really can't. Most of the staff seem standoffish and you can tell they'd rather be anywhere else. There are a few folks who still show compassion, but only a few. You end up paying loads of money for a worn-out building and subpar care.

"Beautiful Community, Too Expensive for Small Preferences"
The community was large, but we preferred something smaller. Still, we found the community to be beautiful. However, the cost was too high for my loved one and me.

"Nice place, but expensive with smaller, outdated rooms"
This was a very nice place. It cost more than some of our other choices. The rooms were smaller and a bit outdated. But the staff seemed really great. They suggested a higher level of care than the other places, which made us wonder if it was for money reasons, but we aren't really sure. Overall, I would recommend them.

"Terrible Dementia Care at Assisted Living Facility"
At first, the assisted living facility seemed fine. However, when my mom, who has dementia, began wandering from room to room and moving stuff, the staff didn't know how to appropriately handle the situation. They usually let her do as she pleased. Eventually, she got a urinary tract infection, which made her dementia symptoms worse. As a result, she became louder and more aggressive, but she didn't harm anyone. I suggested moving her multiple times, but the nurse disagreed, believing they could manage the situation. In the end, they chose to remove her from the facility. They didn't even offer to keep her until I found a preferable place for her. Now, she's in a not-so-great place. Adding insult to injury, the facility gave her a poor assessment, so now it's challenging to find her another place. I'd advise keeping a close eye on this facility.

"Assisted Living Facility Overcharged, Lacked Compassion"
My friend only planned to stay at the facility for two weeks, and I made sure to remind the salesperson multiple times. Even though he was a Vietnam veteran and paying out of his own pocket, they still charged him an exorbitant amount. We had to argue just to get a partial refund, which ended up being much less than expected. For the same price, we could've stayed at a luxury hotel like the Ritz. It's clear they care more about their commission than the well-being of their residents, taking advantage of a veteran in need.

"Staff Issues and Poor Service at Canfield Place"
Canfield Place is terrible at keeping its staff, and it's like pulling teeth trying to get someone to pick up the phone or answer the door. I wouldn't suggest putting those you care for here. You can find better spots that are more affordable. The lack of activities is a bummer and the staff make lots of promises they can't keep.

"Community Decline at Assisted Living Facility"
The assisted living place wasn't too bad, but then the community started going downhill. It seemed pretty old. They tried making updates, but it didn't match what I wanted. Also, some of the staff weren't very nice.

"Great place with excellent communication and easy walking access"
The community is really good at responding and communicating well. They’re always looking for ways to solve problems and take action quickly. If there's ever an issue, they fix it effectively. Plus, the community is on one floor, which makes walking easy. I would recommend this place to others.

"Assisted Living Disappoints with Empty Promises and Few Activities"
This place says they'll do stuff but they don't. They ask for advice but don't use it or change anything. Barely any fun things to do. Wouldn't suggest it right now.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Simple and Homey, Considerate for Advanced Dementia"
I really liked this place. The layout feels like home—simple and cozy. But, I wasn't sure they could manage my mom's dementia. She's quite mobile and has strong opinions. Maybe it's better suited for someone more advanced in their dementia or with mobility challenges.
