"Mixed Feelings About Charter Senior Living"
Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings is a pleasant place with friendly staff. Overall, it’s good, but the food could be better.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Community"
I visited this place, and it seemed nice. Everything was tidy, and the people working there were friendly. They offered some extra things which might be good for some folks, but it didn't seem perfect for my family member.

"Charter Senior Living Unresponsive to Disturbing Resident Behavior"
We had a fellow resident who constantly bothered our family member. The person unplugged our loved one's electronics, removed photos from the walls, took personal items, and even stole her hearing aids. Even worse, she threw water at a family member visiting our loved one, and gave our mother her own waste. This completely broke the rules the facility outlined in the contract, yet they did nothing to address it. The management team explained why these situations happened but didn't act to solve them. Another shocking incident was when a male resident entered our mother's room and refused to leave, with the facility failing to provide any solutions again. Shockingly, Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings' response to these issues was to discharge our loved one! Yes, they received a citation from the Ohio department of Health, but the added stress they put on us during an already tough time was unthinkable. Placing a loved one in a memory care facility is already nerve-wracking, but this place only made it worse'.

"Decline in Care and Food Quality at Local Assisted Living"
If you have a family member who needs Memory Care, I sadly can't suggest this place anymore. The level of care has gotten much worse since it's especially bad in memory care. The cook left, and now the food is awful - the pizza tastes like cardboard, the hot dogs are burnt, and all they serve to drink is Kool-aid. There aren't enough caregivers for the residents, and the cleaning is getting skipped on - the toilets are dirty with rings of mold! We had to report them to the Ohio ombudsman 3 times in less than half a year, and the management doesn't take responsibility for any of it.

"Disappointed with Assisted Living: Costly, Cramped, and Unexpected Changes"
My family didn't like it here. Grandma had a nice apartment, but they suddenly said she needed to move into a smaller, pricier shared room for memory care. That was too much, so we found her a new place.

"Happy with Memory Care Choice Despite Brief Setbacks"
Since March, we haven't been able to visit due to COVID. At first, we were worried about whether our loved one would fit in and how much memory care she would need. Now, we're really happy that we chose memory care for her instead of just assisted living. She has two rooms combined into one, which is nice because she has a small living room and a separate bedroom. The single rooms in memory care are more like studio apartments. The rooms on the assisted living side were also good, but we're overall satisfied with our choice. When she moved in at the end of February, she loved the food. In June, she had a few falls and had to stay in a skilled nursing facility for several weeks. While she was there, she had to eat alone in her room, which caused her to lose some weight. After returning to Charter Community, she regained the weight she had lost, which made us very happy.

"Spacious and Well-Decorated Assisted Living with Higher Prices"
The facility is beautifully decorated with spacious kitchens and bathrooms. Showers include built-in seats, though prices are slightly higher.
