"Unhappy with Assisted Living Facility Experience"
The salesperson we dealt with was only interested in making a sale. They rushed us through paperwork, promising that paying privately for 18 months wouldn't be an issue. But when we had to deal with corporate, it was a different story. Plus, they didn't mention that the level of care comes with an extra cost. And to top it off, they raised the price by over per month right after remodeling. I'm really unhappy.

"Communication and Meals Need Improvement"
We stayed briefly at Stoney Ridge Senior Living. I think the staff could have communicated better with our family about our loved one. The meals also needed improvement.

"Poor Communication and Lack of Consideration for Patients"
The company decides everything, and they're really bad at keeping our family in the loop about treatments. If your loved one has any problems, you should probably avoid this place.

"Great value and active assisted living"
The activities in memory care are a bit limited, but there's always a lot happening in assisted living. The value for the money is great compared to other places we looked at. We recommend Stoney Ridge to other families.

"Mom's happy, staff is great."
We chose this place because Mom knew some residents. Her only complaint is the food, but that's common in assisted living. The staff is generally great, though there's been some turnover.

"Happy with our choice despite small issues"
The facility looks new and is in a very nice area. It's clean and friendly. There are about 105 residents, which is great for my loved one. The residents are younger and more energetic than other places we looked at, so my loved one fits in well with her lively personality. The staff is easy to work with. They let my loved one be independent but still take care of her needs. They are having some staffing problems and have to use outside services sometimes. This means my loved one doesn't always get personalized attention, and they sometimes forget she needs more help because of her poor vision. When I call, I can't always talk to a nurse the same day, and they have lost her laundry a few times. But these are just small problems due to being short-staffed. Overall, the staff is great. , the Director of Sales/Admissions, is very friendly, wonderful, and patient. He and the bus driver picked up my loved one and her things from her old facility and moved her to Elmcroft. He did this himself, which was nice. The activities at Elmcroft are good, but they haven't had outings because of Covid. Overall, we're happy with our choice.

"Cleanliness and care issues, poor communication"
What I liked about Elmcroft when we toured was that it was just one floor and a smaller community. But I'm not impressed with them. I've been questioning if I made the wrong decision for my loved one. My son reminded me that at least he's in a safe place, which helps. However, the floor in his room hasn't been vacuumed in over a month. There's a bandaid with gauze that's been there the whole time. I visit twice a week, so this isn't just a temporary issue. I talked to the nurse last week. She said the housekeeper had a family emergency but is now back. Still, the floor hasn't been cleaned. The contract states that housekeeping should be done once a week, and I think that includes vacuuming. Another problem is our long-term care insurance. They sent me a letter saying they've contacted the facility several times for verification that he's still there, but their calls haven't been returned. It's my money, and Elmcroft won't even call the insurance company back. My loved one has been sicker in the past few months than ever before. He's had conjunctivitis, a strep infection, and has been to the hospital three times. I question their housekeeping, especially during COVID. Things should be cleaner, yet he's getting these infections. They first said he had MRSA, which turned into cellulitis, but later found it was strep all along. I really question Elmcroft's housekeeping practices. It's been one thing after another.

"Worst Experience at Elmcroft: They Neglected My Grandparents"
I'm super upset with Elmcroft. They didn't take care of my grandfolks. They kept making tons of lame excuses and it really upset me. We had to take them out after just one month. My grandma was really sick and all they cared about were themselves, laughing away in their break room while my aged granddad did everything by himself. My grandma passed away as soon as we left Elmcroft. These people played the blame game but didn't take responsibility. My grandpa left, broken-hearted, because they ignored my grandma in so many situations. Also, my grandpa is the kindest person anyone could meet. No one deserves to be treated like this. I hope I'm doing good by warning folks to stay away from that place.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"
We felt really let down. The place looked nice, but they didn't keep their promises. The food, which was supposed to be 'chef-prepared' and 'farm-to-table,' actually came from cans or boxes. It didn't taste good and upset the elderly residents' stomachs. And when we needed help, the responses were slow, sometimes taking up to an hour. The staff seemed caring, but they were too short-staffed to spend quality time with the residents.

"Decent Facility, But Not As Active as Expected"
This place didn't live up to our expectations. My mom or dad had been here for a few weeks and they kept mentioning that no one is coming quickly when the help button was pressed. Me and my brothers and sisters saw this happen too many times. There were times when they hadn't been helped with bathing for several days because they needed help to do it. We decided to move them to a different place that provides better care. The people who work here are a mixed bag—some are super nice, others not so much. The therapy dog there is super cool though. The facility is kinda old but it's kept clean and in good shape. It's a bit hard to figure out the layout too.

"Convenient Location but Pricey; No Kitchenette in Apartments"
This place would've been just right since it's super close to my condo. But the cost was a bit much for what they had. The apartments didn't have a kitchenette, which bummed me out 'cause others we saw did. The community was pleasant, and the staff were friendly.

"Fell Short of Expectations: A Review"
When my mom was staying at this assisted living facility's memory care unit, it seemed like they needed more people on the job. They'd just leave the folks in there in the dining area without making sure they were eating properly. The food wasn't bad and the place was pretty clean. But one time, someone had gone into mom's room and left her food and clothes scattered on the floor. During my visit, I only saw one nurse, two helpers, and a social worker on duty. I wouldn't suggest this particular memory care unit to anybody else.

"Mixed Impressions: A Tour of an Assisted Living Facility"
When we went to see this place, it seemed neat and tidy. But there was a weird smell like propane in one of the rooms. The staff we met were friendly and seemed to know their stuff. They had a schedule of things to do, which was cool. Only downside was it was a bit far from where we live.

"Falls Short of Basic Care Expectations"
This place isn't how it looks. I'd strongly suggest not sending your loved ones here. They fail to give even the simplest care like helping with changes or mealtime often. The activities can be fun but that doesn't matter if basic needs are not met. Nobody should have to put up with this low-quality treatment.

"A Tough Decision"
The staff at EC helped my mom get admitted. They explained how to apply for VA and Medicaid. If I had questions or concerns, the nurses and staff addressed them. I like EC's relaxing atmosphere, similar to a home. They have different dining rooms for meals. It's important for my family to have a pleasant place to visit my mom. The front and back porches and the Bistro are nice. Leaving a loved one in someone else's care is tough.

"Unsatisfactory care; Lacking amenities and professional staff"
The nurses at this facility are excellent. However, most of the care is provided by assistants who, in my opinion, do not provide quality care. Especially in the Alzheimer's unit, they lack even basic amenities like ice machines and places where families can fetch drinks for their loved ones. I suspect the residents only get drinks maybe during meal times. It seems scary that these nursing assistants in assisted living facilities are not required to be certified by the state. This means many of them lack medical experience.

"Mixed Feelings About Elmcroft Assisted Living"
We checked out Elmcroft while exploring care options for a family member. It looked really nice, clean, and well-decorated. The people working there were friendly. One thing that caught my attention was their locked front door. It might be good for safety, but could be annoying for those who like to move around freely.

This place is alright, but they could improve. They don’t always do laundry or food right. Last Friday, hardly anyone was there. They promise to respond but often don’t. Still, lots of people I know have family there and like it. I think it’s pretty good too.

"Caring and compassionate community"
Elmcroft of Washington Township took great care of our mother while she was there. Sadly, she didn't live very long, but during her time there, Elmcroft went out of their way to keep her comfortable, looked after her, made sure she was fed, and more. The staff was always very friendly and genuinely cared for their residents. I highly recommend Elmcroft of Washington Township. Maybe someday my husband and I will move here. What a fantastic place to live!

"Locked Down Feel, Decent Staff, Pricey But Flexible Payment"
I thought it lacked warmth. It's big. Didn't like the layout, felt really locked in. Couldn't stroll around. Staff was nice though. Elmcroft seemed pricier, but they won't force you out for running out of money. You can stay and apply for Medicaid.

"Affordable with great amenities including special diets and Alzheimer's care."
This place is really nice. The one bedroom for folks who need the least help would cost $46,355. They can manage special diets. The minimum you gotta stay per month is $2,730, which adds up to $32,760 for a year. They also offer care for people with Alzheimer's.
