"[Small, personal, with good care; some residents have memory issues."
Most residents have serious memory problems, so there isn't as much companionship or conversation as we'd like for our friend or relative. What I like most is the small size and fewer residents. This means more personal attention for each person. Honestly, I don't have any complaints about the place or services.

It was just right for what I needed. I'd suggest it to others.

"Not Blown Away by Unaccommodating Financial Policy"
We weren't really wowed by what we saw at this assisted living facility. The tour was okay, and the apartments were pretty attractive. However, when it came to discussing money with their finance person, he was pretty inflexible. Even though the place wasn't overly pricey, they wouldn't accommodate our financial needs. We were not blown away by this place.

"Caring Aides in a Nice Place"
This place is nice as we get older. The nurse's aides are kind, friendly, and caring.

"Limited Nursing Care, Small Rooms with Basic Amenities"
The place only had nursing care, which wasn't what we needed. The rooms were super tiny, and there was only a microwave and a mini fridge in the kitchen.

""Overpriced for One Nurse Overseeing 40 Residents!""
This place had only one nurse taking care of more than 40 residents. We packed up and left just a week later. Ridiculous given what they're charging!"

"Avoid: Insufficient Nurse Staff for Large Number of Patients"
This place has just one nurse looking after more than 40 people. Avoid it at all costs! Don't fall for their advertising and go for a place that cares more about the number of nurses for each patient.

"Disappointing Visit to Assisted Living Facility, Poor Communication"
Our visit to this assisted living home was a letdown because the person I scheduled our appointment with had taken the day off, and hadn't told anyone else we'd be visiting. To be fair, the person we'd talked to before was out because she just had a baby. So maybe the director was just too busy. Still, nobody there apologized or explained the situation to us. There was a nurse who showed us around and was willing to answer any questions, but we found out some of her answers were wrong. The place itself looked clean and well-decorated. The rooms were much larger than we had imagined and all the people living there seemed happy.

"Doing Well at Sterling House"
Overall, Sterling House of Fairfield has been great. The facility looks nice, the staff are friendly and caring, and they offer a lot to residents. My only issue is that the evaluation happened after we moved our loved one in, leading to a significant price increase. It would have been better to do the evaluation before moving in.

"Great place with a personal touch, highly recommend"
Our family member has only been here a few weeks, but so far, they’ve done a great job! I’d rate them very high in every area. We liked that the place is smaller and felt it would be a good fit for our loved one’s personality.

"Clean and Friendly Assisted Living with Nice Staff"
My family toured this place while we were figuring out where to take care of our loved one. It looked nice, clean, and the people who work there were kind and useful. In the end, we picked a different place because we had good experiences there before, but this one is worth checking out!

"Challenging Choices: Atria vs. Assisted Living Comparison"
We went to check it out, comparing it to Atria. We picked Atria in the end. The folks we met at Atria seemed sharper and less troublesome. That made a big impact on us. Atria offers a wide range of services, including dementia care and assisted living, I think. Their residents seemed to face more difficulties than those at Atria.

"Getting great care, but waiting on Medicaid waiver program"
At first, we had a problem because they weren't cleaning my brother's room regularly. I had to remind them twice, but now everything is fine. They take very good care of him—he attends Mass and says the Rosary. However, communication is tough due to his stroke. Since December, we were told they'd be on the Medicaid waiver program, but it hasn't happened yet. I worry because if his money runs out, we might have to move him again.
