"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Our family member stayed at the assisted living facility briefly. One caregiver and one nurse were truly outstanding. Unfortunately, the management team sometimes acted unprofessionally and lacked communication.

"Mixed Experience at Affordable Assisted Living"
The community has lots of staff changes. It’s tough to reach them by phone, and communication isn’t great. The cost is lower, and I’d recommend it based on finances.

"Great care and safety at The Landings for our parents"
Last year, our family faced a really tough choice: finding a good place where both of our parents could be safe and well cared for. The Landings has done an amazing job with that.

""Lane Park's Unfair Business Conduct""
My mom sadly passed on April 8, 2018. Before this, our family chose Lane Park, a place your company suggested, to take care of. On March 20, we signed the deal and moved some of her stuff in on March 21. But then, started feeling bad stomach ache at her current care home, Lincoln Park, that same night. She had to be taken to hospital and unfortunately, she never got better from her operation and couldn't move into Lane Park. I kept Lane Park in the loop, and she told me to give them a month's notice in writing, which I gave them on March 29, 2018. But despite this, they still haven't given me back my money for the care costs which came up to $975, or the community fee I had paid which was $2500. According to the agreement, wasn't meant to be charged for any care days she can't be at Lane Park for health reasons. They told me that the community fee was to get the apartment ready for the next person after she had moved out. Considering she never lived there, the apartment is exactly how it was before we even signed anything. I understand that I need to pay for the first month's rent, which is $3295, but neither Lane Park nor the new owners "Landings" have done anything about this issue, even after I called them loads of times. Even A Place for Mom hasn't been able to do anything either.

"Well-kept facility, unaddressed thefts, poor communication"
While the building itself is clean and the nurses do a good job, I find it deeply concerning how frequent theft is since we moved my mom in half a year ago. Many other folks living there are dealing with the same issue. Even though the boss promises to always communicate with us, we never hear back from them and they don't answer our calls or emails. Plus, the phones often don't work so we have trouble getting in touch with my mom, and she can't call us either. We feel stuck, as there aren't many other places nearby where we could move her that are close to our family.

"Reliable Staff at This Community"
My husband is doing pretty well since he moved to this community. He's getting used to it, and I know he's in good hands. The staff is wonderful and always ready to help. There are lots of activities for the residents, and the community is always neat when I visit. I highly recommend this place—it's great!

"Good staff, lousy owner"
Lane Park is like a revolving door sometimes good, sometimes disappointing. The staff cares a lot, listens well, and works hard for the residents. The food is pretty decent. But the facility, even though it's relatively new, doesn't always get the maintenance it needs. Resident rooms can go without cleaning for too long. The worst part? The management and administrative staff change constantly. They leave without warning and don't come back. Back in 2015, they hired a president with a big announcement, but he left after just a few months. The bookkeeper and other managers followed suit. It seems like the owner is making things tough for the staff unrealistic expectations or my way or the highway attitude. It's a shame because most of the staff is great. The turnover causes problems no follow-up on issues or promises.

"Assisted Experience"
Lane Park is a pleasant place with great care. Like any facility, you need to stay vigilant. With a large staff, some things might slip through. The food is okay, but they offer an alternative menu. Overall, it's a very nice facility, and my mother is thrilled.

"Nicely kept but unreliable staff and questionable care system."
Keeping it brief won't be easy, but I'll try my best. On the plus side: The nurse during the day shift in my grandmother's unit was consistently nice, professional and always keeping busy. Inside and outside, the place looks great and is kept in good shape. On the downside: Staff here seem to leave as quick as they come. We've had numerous situations where the person who helped out before wasn't there next time we had a problem - and we're talking days, not months. We moved my grandmother here as a Level 1 care resident, while other facilities wanted to place her higher right off the bat. We didn't think that was necessary and we liked the nurses we met when we toured this place. But, both of them left within a month of our arrival. The facility claimed my grandmother wasn't mingling enough and staying too much in her room. Yet when she started exploring the building more, they complained and began pushing for her to move from Level 1 to 4. They had us sold on a device called the 'wonder guard'. Told my wife it was only at their facility. They wanted to bump up her care level since she's tried to leave the building (they never gave details of when or how many times this occurred). They added "points" to increase her care level, even though they claim she's easily redirected. The point system to determine care doesn't seem to have any set rules. The director adds points based on what she thinks is appropriate, even though she doesn't interact with the residents. The director manages several facilities. She's not very warm and has missed scheduled meetings with us. During discussions about raising my grandmother from Level 1 to 4, she contradicted herself and brushed it off as a misunderstanding. Getting any record about issues like this was quite the struggle. My grandmother's room wasn't cleaned regularly. Once, she had a pile of dirty laundry in the shower even though they were supposed to help her with bathing and getting dressed (extra points for both these services). They proposed building a half-wall in her room to share with another resident. This was their idea of saving us $500 a month. But it's a studio apartment. It can't get any smaller. There's just one closet, one TV, one small fridge, and space for only one bed for each person. Bottom line is, they say it's "assisted living" but expect your family member to be independent. They even added points for brushing my grandmother's false teeth! When we scheduled a meeting for our grandmother with another facility, we informed the nurse station beforehand. But when the representatives showed up, the director called us startled, saying people were panicking thinking my grandmother was leaving. Very unprofessional and uncalled for. They're asking an extra $1000 a month for a smaller room in the memory care wing. They claim she requires more help than the rest of the building can provide. But she's now getting less attention than before. If your loved one only needs minimum care and you can afford to waste $3,500 a month, then good luck. They'll welcome you with open arms. But if you expect actual assistance, be ready to see your life savings dry up. It's gotten so bad that we'd rather spend more to leave than to deal with these people any longer.

"Great Care, Needs More Cleaning Attention"
So far, they've been really good to my parents. My parents are happy there. The only problem is the staff hasn't been keeping my parents' apartment clean. I think they've only vacuumed three times, and I've done it the other times. Other than that, everyone treats them very nicely. My dad's legs were really swollen and he had trouble breathing, so I had to take him to the hospital. I'm not sure why they let him get that bad. My parents think of it as their home and are satisfied there.

"Mixed Experience: Assisted Living Facility Review"
My Mom's been at Lane Park for a year. She's pretty independent, just uses a walker. We picked it because it's easy living, safe, and near her friends. We read the contract carefully and it seems fair. But, if they don't stick to it, we'll complain. She's one of the more independent residents. Most others need more help. It can get her down sometimes. Staff are nice, but turnover is high, especially in management. Mom's happy with the day-to-day workers, though. Activities are okay, but could be better. Mom prefers the social stuff. Services promised are mostly there, but not always as expected. Cleaning is so-so, transport might change, and meals are basic. We'd like more exercise options and improvements to the building. Overall, it's okay, but could be better.

"Staff Disregards Residents' Concerns in Assisted Living Facility"
The living spaces looked pleasant. One of the seniors staying there wasn't happy about the dining room tables getting moved. But instead of taking that senior's concern seriously, Lindsey just dismissed her and even thought it was funny. I don't want that for my Mom. I want her to live somewhere she feels is her home and where her opinions are valued. In her home, the staff should be the visitors while Mom should feel like she belongs.

"Great place!"
Things have been going really well at Lane Park of Huber Heights! It's a clean, well-kept community with friendly staff. Mom likes it here a lot. After touring several places, we narrowed it down to three, and Mom chose this one. Knowing she's safe and happy brings me peace of mind. The only area for improvement is their activities—they seem somewhat limited.

"Spotless facility, sparse dining, room for improvement in brochures"
I visited this place and it was really clean. Not many folks were in the dining spot, which makes sense since it's still new around here. Seems like a bunch of the staff from the Laurels are working here. Their brochure needs fixing; they keep saying the same stuff over and over, and there are some errors that worry me about their reputation.

"Disappointed. Overpriced facility fails to deliver promised services. Genuine worries."
Despite the fancy building, the care and extras that we thought would be there for our loved one are missing. What was promised before we picked this pricey place doesn't exist now. Except for the Chef, none of the staff who were there when we joined are still around. This is hard for the residents. The new staff do seem to be more mature and skilled. When you call the only phone number they have, often no one picks up. Room phones cost extra each month. Since there aren't many staff, it can take a while for someone to help a resident who needs assistance or medication. There's no ongoing activity program. Nothing special was organized for Christmas or New Year's. I know they say they're working on it. The place is understaffed on weekends, so you might need to help your loved one yourself. They promised a barber and a hairdresser, but none exist yet. During visits, I often hear people complain about this. We were told our loved one won't need to leave the place for doctor visits thanks to 'visiting physicians', but we had to choose an outside doctor due to confusion, meaning we still have to help with medication reorders and doctor visits. Their ads say residents can eat whenever they want, but the kitchen isn't open all the time. They claim to offer housecleaning, but I've only seen them empty the trash once. There's no transport for outside activities, but they will take your loved one to the doctor in emergencies. The lack of a designated spot for religious services and exercise machines are among the many other issues. I know this place is new, but to us, if you're not ready to offer promised services, you shouldn't open and definitely shouldn't charge full price. The amenities, care, and promise of lesser involvement on our part were reasons we picked this place despite its higher cost compared to other 20 options we considered. Thankfully, we live close enough to help our loved one, but we're still paying full price without getting what was promised. What can we do now? Move them again? Complain to the state? We're tired of taking care of so many things that were supposed to be taken care of by the facility and we're tired of hearing 'we're working on it'. We were told everything would be in order when our loved one moved in. Now they're 'ready' to open a new facility in Sidney?
