"Underwhelming Care at Assisted Living, Misleading Promises!"
I seriously wouldn't suggest this place! Before you consider bringing your family member here, think it through twice! Sure, it's got all the fancy stuff, but the actual care? Mediocre at best. My mom was there for over a year. Laundry was a constant issue. Discovered medications on the floor numerous times. The eating area was always dirty. Residents weren't allowed to go out as much as they should be; no outdoor chairs. Activities were practically nonexistent. Constant staff turnover too. When my mom hurt her head badly, needing three staples, an ambulance wasn't called; they sent her in a company car with a caregiver. There's much more I could point out, but the foremost takeaway is that what you are promised is not always what you get. So, do your research! My mom's in a different place now and doing brilliantly. She's been outside more in a month than she was there in a year.

"Staff shortage and poor care at this assisted living home"
This place is short on staff and not a nursing home at all! They're just faking the necessary care.

"New, Clean Facility with Friendly Staff, Adjustment Still Needed"
The Lantern of Saybrook is a really nice place. It's always clean and well-kept since it's new. The staff is friendly and helpful with my loved one. She’s still getting used to living there.

"Needs More Staff, Dark Dining Room, Good Meals"
The Lantern of Saybrook is a good place for my loved one, but they need more staff. Right now, the nurse’s aides take care of residents, do housekeeping, activities, and serve meals. They try their best, but they need help. My biggest concern is that the dining room (also called the common area) is too dark without windows or natural light. The meals are good, and residents can ask for more if they’re still hungry.
