"Affordable and Short-Staffed"
The place has been nice, but they’re understaffed. The cost was lower than others, and it was the only nearby option.

"Review: Appalling Neglect plagues Assisted Living Memory Care Unit"
I don't know where to start. Whenever me and my sisters check in on our mom at the memory care unit, we spot neglect. Her room is always a mess, and necessities like toilet paper and paper towels are often missing. It seems like no one ever mops her room—we usually have to do it ourselves. Worse, we sometimes find her asleep during meal times, with no staff members making an effort to take her to the dining area. She's lost a lot of weight because of this. Our eldest sister, who has the power to make decisions for our mom, unfortunately doesn't seem to care. I'd have moved our mom out ages ago if it were up to me! I used to work in nursing, and I can confidently state that this facility disregards its memory care unit residents. It's not a baseless claim—this place is terrible, and the way they treat their patients is depressing since the patients can't voice out their experience. I advise against admitting your loved ones to the memory care unit here. I can't really comment on other parts of the facility.

"Disorganized Assisted Living Disappoints with Small, Closet-Less Rooms"
Laurelwood seemed all over the place. I didn't meet many staff during the tour. Mom didn't fancy the rooms; they lacked closets, just an armoire. Not enough space for all her clothes.

"A Wonderful Assisted Living Experience"
The assisted living community is conveniently located, and the staff is fantastic. The rooms are okay, and my dad enjoys the good food. The grounds are clean and well maintained. I'd recommend this community.

"Unacceptable Care and Disrespect Towards Nurses at Assisted Living"
Many folks living here aren't getting the treatment they think they are. RCT claimed to have given a resident a shower, but it never happened. Some nurses are marking off that they've given out medication, but we've found pills still in the cart, with untouched date and time stickers. These people deserve honesty, and we need an overhaul now. They can't seem to keep a good nurse around because of how some RCTs are rude or ignore their directions. Working in healthcare means caring about people. I truly think some are here just for the paycheck, but some really do care - like me, someone who stands up for older people. God bless.

"Far from Ideal: Feels More like a gloomy Nursing Home!"
During my visit to this place for my sister-in-law, I wasn't taken aback in a positive way. It gave me vibes of a nursing home, a place where I wouldn't think of having her live unless she was super unwell. It was too gloomy and totally not what we were on the hunt for.

"Clean, staffing issues, mixed staff attitudes, problem resolution importance."
The place is clean but needs more staff, especially during meals. Some staff are great, others not so much. Noticed in the short time my mom's been here. Realized issues happen anywhere; it's how they're handled that matters.

"As good as expected"
Initially, there were minor issues when my mother-in-law moved in, but they've been resolved. The nursing staff is patient and kind, and she doesn't complain about the food. She's participating in activities and making friends. The community, although older, is clean. I recommend it.

"Four Stars"
When we searched for places, it seemed like they saw my mom as a person, not just a list of health issues. They make big promises, but once you're there, things move a bit slowly during setup.

"excellent staff!"
Laurelwood Senior Living had some initial challenges. Things that were supposed to be set up weren't on time, and the food is quite bland. It's been tough for my father to adjust. However, the staff is absolutely wonderful—they go out of their way to help. The place is spotlessly clean, which caught my attention. Overall, despite a few bumps, they're doing a great job taking care of my grumpy 98-year-old father.

"Great community with friendly staff, engaging activities, and attentive care."
I really liked this community! The staff were super nice and the place was really clean. Everyone living there seemed happy, which was nice to see. One cool thing is they have this lock on the doors that needs a code to get in or out at certain times. They have all sorts of fun activities, although I didn't get to see any myself. But just hearing about them was cool. They really make sure everyone stays involved. What I liked best was that they actually listened to me and cared about my family's needs. It didn't feel like they were just trying to fill up space. I'm definitely going back to check it out again and hopefully join in on some of those activities I missed. Overall, I was really impressed.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Care Costs and Transition Concerns"
We've had some issues with this place. You pay a base rate plus extra for care levels. Sometimes, if my dad is sick for a few days, they raise his care level, which makes the price go up. It's hard to keep it consistent. They're being bought out by Holiday soon, so things might change. But the staff does seem to care; they all know my dad and recognize us.

"Met with the Director"
at a nice facility with private rooms, walk-in showers, and grab bars. You can use your own furniture, and there's a personal microwave and fridge. Although the facility is a bit older, it's well-maintained and offers amenities like a beauty shop, nail salon, and spa. The dining room has menus. Keep in mind that personal items need identification for group laundry. If your mom needs care, they'll assess her and help coordinate Veterans/Medicaid benefits. No noticeable odors.

"Family Tour: Clean and Friendly Lamplight Lacking Kitchenette"
We, my family, visited Lamplight and really liked it. It was clean and everyone was friendly. The only downside for us is that there's no kitchenette in the room. We're thinking about using veteran's benefits to help with the cost since the suites are too expensive for us.

"Good find! Medicaid rooms, fair prices, no need for memory care."
I talked with them and visited on Saturday. It seems like a good place. They have all Medicaid rooms approved, and the prices are good. I wouldn't need a memory care room.
