"Mixed Feelings: Warm Staff, Struggles with Staff Retention, Limited Care"
We thought the leaders at Mallard Cove were really nice. But, they're having trouble keeping enough staff, which affects how well they take care of our mom. The cost is reasonable, though. They're trying to fix their problems, but it might take a while because of the current job situation. It's a good place for people who can take care of themselves and walk around. But, we're thinking of moving our mom somewhere else because she needs more help, and we want a place where the staff stays longer and works well together.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short After Initial Impression"
A few years ago, when we first visited this assisted living facility, we were really impressed. We thought it would be a great place to live. But when we went back recently for another tour, we were disappointed to see how much it had changed. It's not as nice as it used to be.

"Good community, but needs improvements"
Mallard Cove is a nice place, but it could be better. We know staffing is a big issue everywhere, but some of the workers here could improve their attitude and care. Also, the visiting hours and procedures need work. Every time we want to visit, we have to make an appointment during certain hours, and that doesn’t always fit our schedule.

Our experience was just okay. We only used them for short-term care.

"Mom’s Happy Move to Mallard Cove"
I can’t thank you enough for helping my mom move to apartment 4309. I’m happy to say the move is done. [Name removed], her caregiver, has been super kind to Mom during this time. This was a hard change for Mom after Dad died, but she is so happy in her new place and says it’s all because of you and your gentle help. Saying she is happy at Mallard Cove is an understatement. I will go back to NJ knowing my mom is in good hands. The maintenance staff was great, and except for a small repair, everything is fixed - hats off to [name removed] and his professional team! Thanks also to [name removed] at the front desk for helping Mom with important info and handling all the online orders. She does a great job keeping everyone safe. Please take care, and on behalf of my whole family - thank you so much!

"Great care, friendly staff, and a welcoming community!"
My dad and his wife have been living here for 3 months. The staff takes excellent care of my dad every day and when he needs extra help. They are always friendly and willing to assist. If the staff notices any personal issues with my dad or his wife, they inform each other so they can fix the problem together. The cafeteria staff are friendly and pay attention to their meal needs. Both residents have special dietary requirements, and the staff works hard to offer healthy food choices that they enjoy. I also appreciate that the facility meets my dad's needs as part of the monthly rent, without extra charges. Lastly, the staff make sure residents stay engaged. They include them in scheduled events, keep them informed, and are open to new activity ideas. My dad and his wife have adjusted well and are now active members of the community. Mallard Cove, thanks for taking such great care of my dad!

"Facility Gives Poor Care, Mismanages Medicine, Overcharges for Services"
Stay clear! Protect your folks and your pocket! We had Granny here for one year, repeatedly giving them another shot. They constantly claimed they were going through improvements. Constant changes in staff! Granny frequently got her medicine off schedule, sometimes not at all. Where did the surplus painkillers vanish? None remained when we eventually moved her out! They kept pushing us to switch Granny to the Willows section which costs an extra $1600 a month. The staff caring for her day-to-day insisted she wasn't prepared for the Willows transition. Yet, without consulting any family members, they moved her and her belongings to the Willows section because she thought her sister was visiting and was waiting for her by the building's entrance with her suitcase. She obeyed when they asked her to go back to her new room! We were forced to hire a lawyer to get her shifted back to her original room! That incident was the final blow! Do not subject your parents to this ordeal! Really upset with a facility that treats the elderly this way!

"Clean and convenient with helpful staff. Bathroom accessibility an issue."
This place was really clean and had all the stuff you might need. This person named [name removed] was super helpful when I asked questions. My only problem was that the bathroom was kinda small, making it hard to get a wheelchair through.

We enjoyed living at this community. The staff were friendly, and everything was well-kept. The food was tasty. We moved because our apartment was too large.

"Caring staff and modern place, but no pets allowed."
My sister checked out this place, and I talked to them on the phone. According to my sister, when she toured the community, it seemed like a really nice, up-to-date spot. The folks there and the staff were super helpful, hardworking, and kind. We thought our mom would feel pretty comfy there, but we were bummed out that they didn't let people bring pets, which was a big deal for us back then. In the end, Mallard Cove wound up being our second choice.

"All-Inclusive Community!"
At this community, everything is included, which makes it easier on my parents' budget. The staff has been very helpful with my dad's recovery from health issues, ensuring his comfort and accommodating his needs. They both enjoy the food and activities. Overall, we're very pleased.

"Great Place with Caring Staff"
My mom stayed here for about 3 months. It is a nice place to visit, and they did a good job trying to understand her needs. The community did their very best. Different people came to visit her to provide therapy and in-house nursing.

"Outdoor Access Limited, Otherwise Good Facility"
I visited this community, and it costs about $6,000 a month. The staff was really good at his job and told us a lot of helpful stuff. The Mallard memory unit was okay, but my problem was that the residents couldn't go outside much. The outdoor areas were tiny. I've seen other places where the yards were way bigger, so residents could walk around and get some exercise.

"Review of Serene Haven Assisted Living - Loveland, OH"
I really like this community, and Patty was great to speak with. I'm considering moving here. The only downside is that it's far from Loveland, so my mom's friends can't visit as they don't drive long distances anymore.

"Mixed Feelings about Mallard Cove Senior Living"
This place was really nice and super clean. The tour was great, but we're not sure if it's right for my mom yet. We're planning more visits soon. Also, there were some folks just sitting around with nothing to do.

"Memory Care Living with Upsides and Room for Improvement"
My dad's in the memory unit. It's super clean with lots of light. His room has a glass door looking onto a pond and tree. There's a walking path and secure courtyards. They have fun activities all day, but the food needs work. The assistant director is trying to fix it. Families should be involved, especially at the start, to help their loved ones settle in.

"Nice Place, Slightly Understaffed"
This place is quite nice. It's clean, looks good, and the staff are friendly. However, they're a bit understaffed, and my loved one needs more attention. On the bright side, the pricing structure is straightforward, with most services included in the base price.

"Fantastic care, kind staff, unsure about eligibility level."
I really liked this place a lot! The folks who worked there were super nice. I thought my mom was getting better care, but maybe she doesn't qualify for the level of care they provide anymore?

"Pleasant, Quiet Assisted Living Community"
The community is really clean. They give out medications and helped decorate our loved one's room. But there are some issues in the newer section, like slow hot water and it's far from the dining area. Still, it's a pretty, quiet place with good food. Overall, we're pleased.

"Convenient Location, Modest Amenities, Friendly Staff"
Visited on 7.31. Location is nice and close to my favorite Episcopal convent for retreats. Closets are less spacious. Some apartments have nice stacked washer and dryer combos. Will have to organize my books better if I choose this one, but once you find Lippleman Rd off E. Kemper, you're home-free, and Northgate Mall's handy. Holly Beltz and I got along famously! They're upfront with costs, which helps me.

"Assisted living not suitable for dad; lacked activities, nice place."
Dad didn't quite fit in here. Not many fun things to do, and everyone was really old. But the building itself was nice.

"Sparkling, newly renovated, with unified pricing. Full kitchens included."
This place is really clean and they fixed it up recently. It's got new owners too. Instead of paying separate prices for rent and help, they have just one price for everything. Plus, every apartment has a full kitchen.
