"Nice Facility with Caring Staff but Some Issues with Meds"
We stayed at Miller Place for a month. Mom got some pressure sores, so we moved her to a skilled nursing facility where she'll stay. The staff was good to her and us. They did a great job, especially for an assisted living place. They kept us updated about her condition. Mom didn't want to join activities, but that's just her. The only problem was they didn't handle her prescription drugs through insurance; I had to do that. Maybe it's because they're a private pay facility. Overall, the care was good. Miller Place is a nice assisted living facility with all private rooms. The staff helps with care as needed, and the place is clean and neat. Just remember it's a private pay facility.

"Friendly Community with Family Nights"
My mom didn’t want to leave our old house, but at Miller Place, we still have family nights, and everyone can join us for dinner at ‘mom’s house.

"Easing Transition: Maintaining Home Comforts in Assisted Living"
Moving to assisted living after 60+ years at home was tough. I loved my garden, but the maintenance man helped me set up a courtyard garden, making the move easier.

"Overwhelmed staff and unscrupulous practices prioritize profits over care."
The head of the facility and the Director of Nursing are very insincere. They deceive families into believing their loved ones will receive the utmost care here. However, this promise is empty. They accept residents who aren't suitable for the kind of care they provide, without increasing staff to handle the demand. As a result, one assistant and one nurse are left to handle all duties, while upper management ignores the caregivers' pleas for help. These caregiving heroes aren't able to properly feed or help the residents use the bathroom as often as necessary, even though families are still being billed. These injustices occur because management is more interested in filling rooms and accepting residents who require more care, without bringing on sufficient staff. Medication mistakes are common due to nurses being overwhelmed with other responsibilities typically handled by aides. Staff retention is poor as a direct result of the unmanageable workload. The facility is a hazard. Complaints have been lodged with the state authorities against the management by both families and staff on multiple occasions. The administrators engage in unethical practices. On top of that, two experienced nurses were noticed falsifying documentation. At this facility, it's all about profit, not patient care.

"Better for Basic Needs, Not Long-Term Care"
This place was nice, but we didn't think it was right for my mom. It's a smaller community and didn't have as many activities as others we saw. We were thinking about the future, and if mom needed more care, a continuing care community would be better than just an assisted living place.
