"Assisted Living Facility Fails to Provide Adequate Care for Residents"
This place doesn't have enough aides, and the ones they do have don't seem to care about the people living here. It takes forever for them to answer the call lights; sometimes it's more than 20 minutes! They should really use timers to make sure they respond faster.

"Mixed Feelings: Orchard Park Assisted Living Review"
Orchard Park is a nice place. The person who plans activities is really great. Even though my loved one doesn't join in, he keeps asking and tries to involve them. If your loved one would take part in activities, they might enjoy it here. The food is plain and like what you'd get in a cafeteria. It's not anything special. My biggest issue is that the aides don't wear name tags. So if you don't know who they are or can't remember their name, that's just tough luck. They also need to respond better. My loved one has trouble moving and can't walk. They need two people to help move them. I've had several aides come in, turn off the light, not do anything, and never come back - I think it's the same aides. They could do a much better job with that. I understand that finding reliable and good help is hard right now; maybe if they paid them a bit more or offered an incentive, they could hire more people who want to do their job. Generally, many of the people are nice, but they seem nicer and more helpful when I'm there compared to when I'm not. There are a few who are really special and good to the residents, but most of them are just passing the time. I've talked to the administration about it and they said they would work on it, but it hasn't changed. Again, there are some caregivers I trust to take care of my loved one, but I want to be completely comfortable leaving them there. My loved one has lived in several places, and this is the best place so far. It's convenient for me because it's very close to my house, but Orchard Park could improve a little. I'm happy, but I'm not completely satisfied. It's not the ideal situation I could hope for my loved one, but it's certainly not the worst.
