"Assisted Living Needs More Staff and Care Improvements"
It was a small and nice place to live. But they need to do better with taking care of people. Sometimes there weren't enough workers, and they could use more help or someone to watch over things.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
This place used to be cheaper for memory care, but then they hiked up the price a lot after just a few months. Not cool. The workers are okay, but they don't really check on the residents as much as they should, especially on weekends when it feels like there aren't enough staff around. The food isn't great, and there aren't many choices. The cleaning is pretty good though.

"Assisted Living Facility Deceives Families and Neglects Residents"
It's very disheartening to be part of this place. They deliberately mislead the family members of the residents, running the facility more like a harsh correctional institution. The limited activities they claim to offer barely extend beyond exercise, Wii bowling, and bingo. Evenings are painfully dull as the kitchen is locked by 7pm. Even simple things like requesting different meals or even milk for the resident's rooms are denied unless they dine in the common area. So basically, no options. The housekeeping service is grossly subpar. Residents who can't stay alone in their rooms have no choice but to sit in the lobby, staring blankly at each other or out of the windows. Even watching television is forbidden; they claim to have special rooms for that activity. We can't even create a pleasant atmosphere by introducing plants, as according to them it violates some corporate policy. The overall environment here is bleak and it's clear that happiness is scarce. The way they falsely assure families about the multitude of amenities and services, all just for the sake of money, is utterly revolting.

"Great Community Despite Initial Mix-Up, Recommended by Residents"
Paramount Middleburg Heights is a really nice place to live. At first, we had a bit of confusion, but after talking to the main office, everything got straightened out. Some folks we know who live there have only good things to say about it. This wasn't our first pick, but if we ever need to move our loved one, we'd choose this place.

"Efficient and Caring Assisted Living Facility with Welcoming Environment"
We've had really quick responses when we press the call buttons. The workers listen to us and spend time with both us and my mom. It's a friendly and cozy place to be. Plus, everything's on the same floor, which is really convenient.

"Convenient and Friendly Senior Living Choice"
We picked Paramount Senior Living because it's close to our home, reasonably priced, and the room is nice with lots of storage and a bathroom/shower. The staff are really nice and helpful. I'm pleased with our decision and would suggest it to others who are searching.

"Avoid This Place - Paramount Has Lowered the Quality of Care"
Ever since Paramount took charge, the quality of care has drastically declined. We had to remove my mother from their services after only two months. I urge everyone to steer clear of this place.

"Subpar Care and Poor Conditions at Paramount's Assisted Living Facility"
Paramount took charge of this assisted living facility at a certain point. Since then, things have not been favorable. We just took our family member out. They always lack enough staff. On many occasions, our family member pressed the call button for help and didn't get a response for up to two hours. A few times, they had to use their phone to find someone to assist them. The new owners switched to a low-grade incontinence brief that often leaks. The food quality also plummeted way down, with lots of dry turkey sandwiches, bland, undercooked fish and reused soup (it seems like they just throw any leftovers into a pot and call it soup). If they never have to deal with stewed squash again, they'll be grateful. When leaving, we had problems transitioning our relative's medication to their new place. There's a chance they may go without vital medication until the new spot can access it. Some people in the administration tried to help, but it seems like they are hindered by the new owners.

"New Management Fails to Improve Assisted Living Facility"
New management took over last autumn and vowed for major enhancements. Sadly, there's been no change. Meals served are simply acceptable, nothing more. When residents need help, it takes at least 15 minutes for someone to respond, sometimes longer. The new manager doesn't seem to respond to any complaints.

Met with [name removed]. She was very kind and asked questions about my mom that showed she was concerned about her as a person. Her approach was to “honor how she lived” when she was at home. To let routines and habits that don’t interfere with the staff responsibilities remain a part of her new life. This is a one floor community of about 65 or so residents. It’s located closer to my sister but only about 15 minutes for me taking 480 to 71 and getting off at Bagley Road. This facility is next to Big Creek Parkway and that section of the Metroparks. I think mom would do better on a smaller campus like this because she could get to know more people and be known by them. The layout would promote mom taking walks outside her room without feeling overwhelmed or fearful of getting lost. The halls are wide and they have benches and chairs throughout where she could sit and rest if needed. Staff would always be nearby to escort her back to her room in a wheelchair if she felt to weak to continue. Activities like chair dancing, common rooms to watch TV shows, a room with a baby grand where live music is regularly scheduled. They have a salon where mom could get manicures, pedicures and hair cuts regularly. There is no assigned seating for meals. The menu is flexible and she could stash some of her favorite health snacks in her room. The refrigerator, TV, wireless connection and phone are included in the cost of the room. She could bring her own microwave and coffee pot. The counter space is small but she could still lay out a fresh fruit basket somewhere that we could stock for her.
