"Rockport: Promises Not Kept, Miscommunication, and Failure to Refund"
Back in [date removed], my aunt was evaluated by Rockport's team. They promised us that she'd fit right in and that any extra help she needed could be provided by their specialized services. These services were described in great detail by their Marketing Director. However, as soon as my aunt moved to Rockport in, the nurses and aids told us straight out that she should have never been accepted. According to them, they didn't have the equipment or manpower to provide the care that us, the family, were promised, even at a bigger price. It was clear that the marketing team and the actual caregivers didn't agree on what they could provide. Despite this, some caregivers were really nice to my aunt but the team was simply too small to care for all her needs. They even admitted to us that Marketing had given us false promises, which we definitely felt were true. In those first three days at Rockport, my aunt had a tough time. She ended up falling and getting sent to the emergency room. Later in , Rockport said they were sorry for admitting my aunt and promised to give us a complete refund. But to this day, we haven't got any money and Rockport isn't returning our calls. It's very disappointing.

"Facility Fails to Care For, Treats Ill Grandfather Poorly"
This place made my grandpa really sick while he was living there. He got pneumonia and was very dehydrated before they got him medical help. We tried talking to the Head Nurse, but she just hung up on us and the hospital nurse. Don't let your family stay at this facility. They can't take care of older people who are weak or have memory problems.

"Owners Unfairly Reject Non-Smoking Stroke Survivor Over Others' Actions"
The facility's family owners rejected my sister because they're facing issues with three residents who sneak out to smoke cigarettes! My sister had to bear the cost of this. Since her stroke in November, she has totally quit smoking. Now, she's been at a different assisted living center for two months and she's NOT smoking! These owners should be ashamed!

"Great staff makes mom feel at home and well-cared for"
The staff has really made my mother feel welcome and like she belongs. They’ve done a great job talking with us about her needs and finding the right services for her.

"Friendly Staff, Uninviting Facilities"
The people at Rockport were nice and helpful, which was good. But, the building wasn't so great. It felt like a motel. The apartment I saw didn't have any furniture. Also, the location was on a busy street. The lobby and rooms didn't feel welcoming. My aunt wouldn't like it because there's no kitchen. I feel sorry because the staff seemed dedicated to helping their clients.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living: Pros and Cons Explored"
This assisted living place was okay. I enjoyed the activities and things they offered. I'm worried about the narrow hallways; they got crowded near the dining room when people waited to go in for lunch. Also, the hallways are long. It would be easy for someone who can walk easily.

"Nice Place with Good Care and Activities for Residents"
We visited this place for care options. The staff was nice and caring. The place is clean, and the food choices looked good. They have fun activities for residents who want to join in. We needed a place that could handle our payment needs. Families might want to think about this place for their loved ones.

"Not Enough Activities for Elderly Residents"
My husband's experience here was adequate. The place is nice and clean, and everyone is very friendly and helpful. But I felt there weren't enough fun activities for the eldercare members. My husband wasn't encouraged to stay active. He was always looking for more things to do.

"Mixed Feelings on Rockport’s Care and Costs"
We picked Rockport because it was easy on the wallet and they seemed to care. The nurses checked out my dad and said he’d be just fine there. But when we got there, after a few days, they said he couldn’t stay. The nurses would say one thing, but the people at the front desk would say something else. Plus, they hit us with a $1,000 fee to sign up that we never heard about before and it wasn’t given back. Also, the building’s an old hotel, so getting through doors into rooms and bathrooms is pretty tough. It’s not easy to move around. But, my dad did enjoy the meals.

"Poor Communication and Lack of Social Interaction in Assisted Living"
We checked out this place for our two relatives. The building is nice, but the problem is the communication. I called three times and left messages, but no one called back. We wanted to rent a room. Also, I noticed that nobody really talks to each other when the residents are in the lobby. Because of these issues, which I think are important, we decided to keep looking for another place.

"Memory care requires private payment, not Medicaid"
So far, I don't think she has any complaints. The place is clean, and she enjoys the music activities. However, I do have one issue: it wasn't clear that memory care services have to be paid for privately. They don't accept Medicaid for memory care. For the regular assisted living, you don't have to pay privately for a whole year first. You pay until your money runs out, then you can switch to Medicaid, but if you need memory care, it's only private pay. Medicaid would require moving to a nursing home.

"Great move-in experience, could improve activity organization"
Moving in went really well, and we got a lot of help with everything. It might have been nice to have a bit more organization with activities when my loved one first arrived. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
