"Affordable Assisted Living with Good Services"
Unlike other expensive places, this assisted living facility is affordable because it's not for profit. I noticed that it mainly serves elderly women in wheelchairs, but overall, the services are good.

"Shocking Decline of The Sanctuary Calls for Immediate Intervention"
Just three years prior, The Sanctuary was a haven. I was relieved when my mom could rehabilitate there, after fracturing her femur. About two years ago, without any warning, "AHF," a non-profit group, took control of daily operations, and it's been all downhill since. The food quality hit rock bottom. They massively reduced the staff, causing many excellent workers to quit. The replacements are lackluster to say the least. The facility's doctor was never around and failed to communicate with me about my mom's status. Vital information from morning staffers to evening ones seemed to vanish. Their alarm system is antiquated. It’s simply a long cord with a help button at the end of it. Assistance would frequently take way too long to show up. The bathroom, hidden from hallway view, also had a button, near the toilet. My mom spent her final year falling on a near-weekly basis and I hate imagining her lying there unseen for so long. On October 15, 2017 at 5 a.m., my mother's lower leg went purple and cold and lacked a pulse. The day nurse finally called me at 10 a.m., mentioning an order for a Doppler scan but didn’t know when it would happen because it was Sunday and they were busy. My husband and I rushed to the facility and demanded they call 911 instantly. When I asked why they hadn't done so earlier, I was told it was because she had a "Do Not Resuscitate" order. They apparently took this to mean that whatever happened was acceptable and not a priority. My mother died a week later after enduring so much agony. It was soul-crushing to witness. Please, for the love of your relatives, do not send them here; better places exist unless you truly don’t care. In my view, The Sanctuary blatantly lacks any oversight and IMMEDIATE practical changes and enforcement are needed on a state level.
