Sunrise of Findlay

"Great care and kindness for both residents and their families"
My father lived at Sunrise for a short time and needed a lot of care. The staff there were amazing. They were really kind and always talked directly to him, not just around him. They treated him with respect, explained the care they were giving, and chatted with him. When their shift ended, they said goodbye warmly. They truly cared about him. They were also very understanding and supportive of my mother, who was feeling scared and overwhelmed. Overall, it was a good place for him.

"Sunrise of Findlay Neglects Elderly and Overcharges Families"
I would absolutely tell people to avoid Sunrise of Findlay. They just don't take proper care of older folks. My mom lived there in the unit for people with memory problems and they never did anything fun with her. The helpers there just sat around, either using their phones or chatting with each other. Considering how much they charge, it's really terrible.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs More Staff for Better Care"
The tour was okay. The person selling was really good. Everyone was friendly and knew my dad's name. He mostly liked it there. But just being friendly isn't enough. After 3 months, my dad needed hospice care. He was supposed to be moved every 2 hours, but once we were there for six hours and no one came. There were two people on the second shift who were really good and we appreciated them. They should hire more people to help. Families need to speak up for their loved ones' care!

"Avoid this assisted living: poor care, neglectful staff, dismal activities."
Don't pick this place for your loved one. When my mom went in, she could walk with a walker, but now she's in a wheelchair and struggles to walk. She often has bruises and the food is really bad. The staff isn't honest and they don't do any activities with her or the other residents in memory care. They don't even take them outside. They just let them watch TV or sleep in their rooms. It's a really bad place. I only know about the memory care unit, so I can't say anything about the rest of the facility.

"Mixed Feelings About New Assisted Living Community"
This place is pretty nice, but the room layout wasn't great. The person who showed us around wasn't the salesperson, and the room we saw didn't match what we wanted. Even though it's a newer community, the rooms just didn't suit us.
