The Inn at Whitewood Village

"Needs Improvement in Care and Supervision"
The helpers should get proper training before they start working. The skilled helpers teach the new ones for three days, but after that, they’re on their own to look after the patients. This method isn’t really effective! The staff working at night should visit the residents more and make sure everyone stays in their own beds and not in the beds of others! The folks running activities do their best with the people who have trouble remembering things, but they’re not there all the time. Plus, the people living in assisted care keep asking for a lot! I had to ask two times before they gave my relative some snacks to eat with their hands. On the bright side, they’re pretty good at washing her clothes and keeping her room tidy.

"Friendly Atmosphere with Room for Improvement"
The people at the assisted living are really nice. Residents are always happy to meet new people and invite them to join them at their table. They are very welcoming to residents with any disability. There are many activities for them on the assisted living side. The memory care side doesn't have as many activities, but they are increasing them from one day a week to four days a week, which is a big help. The weekly menu looks good. The food in assisted living is not cold, but it's not hot either. The food is actually better in memory care because they use heated carts to bring it out.

"Good food and caring staff at The Inn at Whitewood Village"
The place seems short on staff and has some staff changes. However, most of the workers are really caring. I think the food is good and balanced, though I enjoyed it more than most residents. Overall, we're satisfied with The Inn at Whitewood Village.

"Peaceful and Safe: A Trusted Assisted Living Choice"
My mom is 96 years old and has started falling at home more often. Despite feeling young at heart, she needs to remember her walker all the time. Since I still work, I couldn't manage caring for her anymore. I visited 7 assisted living facilities, and Whitewood seemed perfect. Mom still wants to go home sometimes, but she has dementia, so some days are better than others. Whitewood assisted living is all on one floor, which makes it easy to get around. The place isn't too big, so it's easier to manage. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. The food is pretty good, and there are lots of extra benefits. They even have a special memory unit for those who need it. Everyone there seems happy and helps each other out. No one looks unwell, and everyone dresses nicely. They have many activities for the residents to enjoy. I visit more often than I probably should, so I can keep an eye on things. They have doctors and nurses right there if anything comes up. I would definitely recommend The Inn At Whitewood. I feel peaceful knowing that my mom is safe and well taken care of there.

"Avoid This Facility: Unsafe Environment, Shoddy Management"
I've lived a lot of years and let me tell you, this place is a disaster. I don't normally put pen to paper for reviews, but people should be warned about this. No one should have to stress about their family here, ’cause this place just isn't safe. The moment you walk in, you can tell folks aren't warm unless they think you're a new customer. The nurses aren't nice and don't want to chat with the folks living here. The head honcho is forgetful, green around the gills, and doesn't like to work with people. Granted, it may look nice at first, but don't be fooled. The happening right now and the boss just doesn't care about the safety or peace of mind of the folks here. These people dig deep in their pockets to live here, and at the very least, they need to feel safe and happy where they live. It falls to the head honcho to make sure all their workers are on the up-and-up, keeping their residents safe. If they fail at that, the residents are in danger of losing money, being hurt emotionally and physically. This place is known for hiring shady characters who do some really uncool things to the residents because the boss doesn't try hard enough to hire decent people. On top of all that, they can't keep staff because of sloppy leadership. This place is no good and I'm sure you or your loved ones could find somewhere safer, and much better.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
We visited this place during our search. We liked it a lot—it was our top choice. Unfortunately, our medical requirements didn’t match what they offer.

"Great facility, but not yet Medicaid waiver approved"
Visited the place twice and will probably set up a lunch visit with my mom. I really like the location and the facility. My only worry is that they aren’t approved for the Medicaid waiver yet.
