"Accommodating Care Facility with Room for Improvement"
This place is really nice and caring. The staff is always careful and nice to us. They talk to us a lot which is good. It's really helping us take care of our mom. But they didn't understand how much care Mom needed at first. They realized she needed more care than they could give in assisted living really quickly. So they moved her to a new place where she can get all the care she needs now. It was a bit hard to explain to her why she had to move with her memory problems.

"Caring staff, clean facility, no regrets."
I've told lots of folks about The Gables of Canton because they really look after their residents. The place is nice and clean, and the staff is friendly. Moving my dad there was a good decision!

"Caring Staff Made a Difficult Time Easier"
The more families learn about Dementia or Alzheimer’s, the better they can use the care here. My father-in-law was tough and very violent, but Alzheimer’s can do that to some people. I found the Gables staff, especially [name removed] the head nurse, very helpful, especially when the staff was passing. I was with him, and everyone worked together to let him pass quietly and with dignity.

"Mixed Experience at The Gables of Canton"
My family and our loved one had an okay time at The Gables of Canton. The staff who took care of us every day were really nice and knew what they were doing. We had some problems with the outside doctors who came when the Nurse Practitioner was visiting our loved one. We think it’s better for you or your loved one to keep seeing your own doctor instead of using the doctors who work with the community.

"Overall positive with room for improvement."
The facility is clean and staff are caring. However, response time needs improvement. Limited activities for memory unit residents. Overall, it's a good place.

"Good care, but staff training needs improvement for Alzheimer's patients"
The Gables of Canton is a lovely facility with friendly staff. However, their expertise in memory care isn’t as strong as advertised. My father-in-law, who was in late stage 6 of Alzheimer's, had reactions that were not well-managed. I provided all necessary information and laws to the staff when they tried to evict him, as they weren’t handling his condition appropriately. They didn’t realize he was nearing the end of his life. We brought in supplemental care and hospice; he passed away shortly after. The staff needs more training in handling complex Alzheimer’s cases. Although the facility is good overall with excellent food and amenities, the young, undertrained staff struggled with my father-in-law’s needs. I chose The Gables after interviewing 17 places, but the staff’s lack of experience and training held them back. I suggest asking detailed questions about how they handle specific issues and ensuring they are prepared for various patient needs.

"The Gables of Canton: A Convenient and Pleasant Assisted Living Experience"
The Gables of Canton is a great place. It's clean and affordable compared to other assisted living facilities we checked out. Their laundry service needs improvement; they've lost some of our loved ones' items. We thought they'd wash residents' laundry separately, but it seems everything gets mixed together. Despite that, they've been responsive to our concerns. Pets are allowed, and there's no smoking. We love that it's all on one floor, making it easy for her to get around. She enjoys sitting outside, and there are doors leading to the courtyard. Plus, there's a neat putting green – perfect for her since she used to golf.
