"Brookdale's Covid Challenges: Less Social Interaction, Resident Decline"
We've had some issues with Brookdale, especially due to covid. Mom doesn't get to socialize as much. I think the people here are sicker than her, so she's gotten worse since moving in.

"Neglected Concerns: Tour Experience Disappointing"
My visit was okay, but when I mentioned our tight budget, the person didn't seem to care anymore.

"Assisted Living Falls Short"
Brookdale Tulsa is a nice, clean place. But they're not doing what they promised. Some staff are friendly, but others don't seem to care about the residents. They're not meeting my father-in-law's needs. He needs encouragement to eat healthy food before sweets, but they're not helping. They also don't encourage him to shower or join activities. It's not what we signed up for.

"Assisted Living Review: Not Ideal for Loved Ones"
The Brookdale Tulsa South wasn't right for my family member. When I visited, I noticed a bad smell. It seemed more like a nursing home, with residents mostly in wheelchairs. While the layout was pleasant, it wasn't what we wanted.

"Assisted Living Review: Activities, Cleanliness, Friendly Staff, On-Site Salon"
This place has many things to do every day. The folks we met on our tour were friendly. The place seemed neat and tidy. They even have a beauty salon here.

"Horrible Experience at Assisted Living Facility Leads to Health Decline"
I thought this place, Brookdale Tulsa South, would be a good fit for my parents. I told them what my parents needed and was told all my requests would be dealt with. So, on February 9, 2016, we moved in. We had to leave a month later due to constant problems - medication errors, bad attitudes, even my parents' stuff getting stolen. I feel really bad for trusting these people. I saw that many other people were leaving too. The staff promise to help, but never do. The place even smells bad and there's hardly anyone around when you need to get in or out. Once, I was ignored in the cold while staff just walked away. The food here was bad and the staff didn't care at all. My parents were ignored, and sometimes they didn't even get their meals or drinks due to the staff's laziness. Their laundry service was terrible, too. Expensive hangers I bought went missing, and their clothes came back all wrinkled. My mom's bracelet was stolen, but the staff blamed her for "losing" it. They searched my parents' room twice and still blamed her. Eventually, the bracelet turned up on a table in the bingo room, a place my mom never went to. The director promised to make my mom feel better by visiting and walking with her every day, but that never happened. On move-in day, nobody was there to help us get settled. The room wasn't ready, the director wasn't there, and neither was a nurse. I had told them days in advance that we were coming. My dad's health got worse the longer we were there. His doctor even said the stress was too much. So, we left, despite the staff being mean about it. I'd tell anyone to avoid this place. We're now at a better place where my dad's doing much better. The new place is only slightly more expensive, but it's way nicer. They even helped us find help to pay for it - something Brookdale Tulsa South promised but never delivered on. So please, don't be fooled into thinking it's a good place for your loved ones.

"Great Staff and Good Food, But Needs Better Communication"
So far, they are doing great. I have been really happy. The food is okay, not the best, but it's better than what she had before. The staff are always respectful and wonderful to the residents. There seems to be a little bit of a communication gap between the staff and the family. It's still a bit new, but overall we are very pleased.

"Billing Process Needs Improvement"
I had a family member stay at Sterling House of Tulsa South for a short time, but she had a fall and needed to go to the hospital. My experience was limited because of this. What bothered me was that they bill in advance. I received a bill for May, even though my mother wasn't there. They promised a credit, but I haven't seen it yet. The place looks nice and homey, but it's quite expensive. For the few days my mom stayed, the price was too high.
