Prairie House Assisted Living & Memory Care

"Prairie House in Broken Arrow struggles with overnight care."
My family had some concerns about Prairie House in Broken Arrow. They don't seem to have enough staff, especially at night. This means if someone needs help getting in and out of bed or using the bathroom, they might have to wait a while.

"Avoid These Assisted Living Facilities, Nothing Adds Up."
Don't let the friendly smiles and decent-looking premises fool you! Everything isn't as it appears. So many strange incidents have happened that don't make sense. Keep your distance!

"Affordable and accessible but just okay; better than alternatives."
We chose this place because it was easy to get into and didn't cost too much. It was okay. Way better than the other place my family member was sent to.

"Friendly Staff, But Understaffed a Year Ago"
If you’re checking out Prairie House Assisted Living and Memory Care, I’d say the folks there are super nice and easy to talk to. However, when my family member stayed there more than a year back, they didn’t have enough staff and nurses and aides kept coming and going. We ended up moving my family member to a different place for memory care.

"Clean and Decent"
I visited this place, and it was decent. Everything was clean, and they even have a full bar.

"Needs More Skilled Caregivers for Safer Memory Care"
Finding good memory care in Tulsa isn’t easy. The people who work there are super nice, and they keep the residents busy with lots of fun stuff to do. But to make things better, they really need caregivers who know more because they’ve been doing it longer. My family member got hurt a few times while staying there, and that’s not okay.

"Caring Community with Great Activities"
I think it's a nice place for my family member. The staff and care are what I wanted. The community has fun activities for residents, and they maintain supplies and cleanliness.

"Inefficient Assisted Living Facility Causes Heartbreak and Grief"
I recently had to make the hard decision to move my dad, who is 88 and struggling with dementia, into this assisted living facility and, honestly, it was pretty awful. After some initial challenges, my dad started feeling comfortable at the facility. He was active, doing activities like singing, bible study, movies, bingo, and he was really happy there. But then we started noticing big problems - the staff kept leaving, medicine was being mishandled, his meds weren't being refilled and he started having serious health complications because of it. The clincher was definitely when my dad, after getting treatment at a hospital, was told he wasn't allowed back by the director, even though two other facilities said he met all the guidelines for assisted living. With no other option, he was sent to a skilled nursing facility against our wishes and against the doctor's advice. At the new place, my dad was terrified and called me crying; he just wanted to go home. When I offered to pay for a nurse to stay with him round-the-clock, the director insisted she needed more time to think. When I visited him, he was scared, dirty, and they had lost all his clothing. Despite the doctor, the hospital, and me insisting otherwise, Prairie House denied him a return home. When he finally moved to a hospice home to die, not a single person from Prairie House had the decency to come show their respects. To add to the injury, they still owe me money I had pre-paid for a month he wasn't allowed back. Another warning - their pharmacy service is problematic, too. To sum it up, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They need to get their act together. They need to hire reliable professionals and put residents' wellbeing over pride and ego. My dad had very little time left and he deserved to spend it where he felt loved and comfortable. I'll never forgive them for taking that away from him.

"Caring and Compassionate Assisted Living Makes Families Feel Welcome"
I really like this wonderful house. I trust [name removed]; she's caring, kind, and truly loves her job and the extended family at Prairie House. I'm excited to take mom for lunch on Friday.
