"The Chateau Falls Short in Care and Communication"
At The Chateau of Lawton, most staff members were kind and friendly. However, there weren’t many activities for residents—just TV. The only home health care provider allowed was owned by the Chateau owner’s wife. They suggested hospice for my dad due to financial reasons, but then gave him unnecessary morphine. Sadly, he became unresponsive and passed away three days later. I can’t recommend The Chateau.

"Caring Staff, Could Use More Activities"
We really like the care and attention our loved one gets. More activities would be nice.

"Absolutely terrible experience at this assisted living facility"
My experience with this assisted living place was awful. My mom moved in for six weeks before spending the next six weeks in hospitals. Unfortunately, she passed away at home with Hospice. The people running the place were unkind and uncaring and even tried to kick my mom out before she had a safe place to go. One person even lied to me directly. I wouldn't wish this place on anyone, not even my worst enemy.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living: Friendly Staff but Care Frustrations"
I think the place is nice overall. It's cozy and the people are friendly. There aren't too many folks around, which makes it feel more like home. The staff is super nice and they really seem to care about my family member. But there's a problem. My family member needs physical therapy, and they said they could provide it, but it hasn't happened yet. Whenever I ask about it, the manager gets a bit defensive and we don't really get straight answers. They do have a home health and hospice program, which is good, but the lack of follow-through on promises is frustrating.

"Good Care and Tasty Food, Needs More Activities"
I would tell others about this place because my loved one is getting pretty good care here. They really like the food that’s served to the residents. It would be nice if there were more activities to keep the residents engaged.

"Recommended with Reservations"
We like The Chateau of Lawton. It's a smaller, more affordable community. The food is fresh and prepared on-site. However, most residents have memory care needs, which makes it tough for my mother-in-law to make friends. The activities suffered due to a lack of an activity director, but they recently hired one (who is also a nurse). Overall, I'd recommend it, but better activities would make it a 5-star facility.
