"Costs increased after moving in, hard to contact after hours"
When I first contacted A Place for Mom, I was told a different room cost than what it actually starts at. The regional director was great, but after my mom moved in, the costs for her care increased by $XXX a month. It's hard to reach the facility after 5 pm, and the mailbox was always full. Not sure if that's been fixed.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement in Resident Care and Variety"
When families are more involved, loved ones get better care. I wish they'd encourage residents to join activities and stick to personal hygiene routines. If someone doesn't want to shower, they let it slide, and it can go a week without happening. They asked about food preferences, but don't follow dietary needs. Everyone gets the same meals, heavy on bread and carbs. The place is generally clean, no bad smells. Individual apartments aren't as tidy, maybe because some residents refuse cleaning services.

"Mixed Staff Experience at Assisted Living Community"
I suggest finding a different place for your loved one. The staff varies—some are nice, while others aren't.

"Poor Care and Unresponsive Staff at Assisted Living Facility"
My Mom needed food 11 times that they didn't provide. They ignored the help button. My Mom cut her leg and they just gave her a dirty towel, not even a bandage. They didn't even call me or do any first aid. The manager doesn't know what they're doing and the workers don't agree on anything. We moved my mom out because of all this. A memory care resident left at 1 AM and they didn't call the cops till an hour later. We didn't like it there and I wouldn't tell anyone to put their loved one there.

"Sister-in-law is well-cared for, staff is kind"
I haven't been able to visit my sister-in-law for a few weeks, but from what I've heard, she's doing really well here. She has dementia, but I'm sure she's taking part in the right activities for her. I haven't heard anything different, so I think she's eating well and likes the food. Any time I've dealt with the staff, they've been helpful and kind. I believe that if there were any problems with her, I would have been told.
