"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Resident Engagement and Care"

My family isn't happy there. But I expected that since they prefer being at home. They like not having to shop or cook. It's not very friendly, but that's mostly because of the other residents. It's expensive to go to medical appointments, but they haven't tried using the van yet. They haven't participated in any social activities. It's independent living, so there's no extra care. The staff is nice, but sometimes the food service seems overwhelmed. My family complains about the food, but they did that even at home. The place looks nice and clean, but the staff hasn't tried to involve my family in activities. I'm trying to move them to assisted living, but it's so much more expensive, only the rich can afford it! It would be helpful if they reached out to check on my family or involve them more. They don't want to reach out because they think moving here is depressing. Sometimes I feel like I should've kept them at home because I'm doing everything for them, even their entertainment and socializing. They need to try harder to get residents involved in activities, show them the van so they're not scared to use it, and encourage them more. Elderly people need love, support, suggestions for activities, and someone to guide them out of their shell.

"Mixed feelings about Aspen Ridge Retirement Residence tour"

My family visited Aspen Ridge Retirement Residence in person. We thought the tour was good overall, but it wouldn't be the best choice for our loved one.

"Friendly staff and good experience despite fewer activities"

Some of the activities we were told about haven't returned because of the pandemic. I highly recommend visiting. We've had a good experience with our loved one here. The staff are very nice and friendly. They take good care of the residents in the dining room.

"Good community with room for improvement, especially in dining and pets"

The only activity available right now is playing cards with other residents. The dining room is still closed, so we are eating in our rooms. The food is not great. Sometimes you don’t get half of what you order and sometimes you get things you didn’t order. Other than that, the community is good. The staff are very good at keeping us safe. They do allow pets, but there is an extra fee of $1,000.

"Assisted Living Review: Communication and Food Quality During COVID"

They should improve communication with clients and guardians. Initially, everything was top-notch—the rooms and food. However, during COVID, dining quality and variety declined significantly.

"'Dreadful Memory Support with Almost No Upsides'"

Memory support here is terrible. There was hardly anything good.

"Mixed Review for Assisted Living Facility"

The lobby and dining room seem quite dark, and the building doesn't appear to be well maintained. However, the price is comparable to other places we've visited, and the location is convenient, being near the medical center.

"Struggles with Dementia Lead to Memory Care Transition"

She has dementia. Her behavior is normal when others are around, but in her room, she becomes verbally abusive and disoriented. The front desk repeatedly calls her home number. Medication wasn’t given as prescribed. No one on her floor could administer meds. I was called from the Willamette Valley to calm her, resulting in a hospital stay. After leaving the hospital, she followed her doctor’s and family’s advice and moved to Memory Care.
