Assisted Living at Summerplace

"Great care, but meals and activities need improvement"
We really like how flexible the staff is here. They are doing a great job taking care of our loved one and making sure she gets what she needs. However, the meal service could be faster because our loved one says it’s slow sometimes, which is a problem. Also, there aren’t as many activities as we hoped for.

"Great for active folks may not suit those needing help"
The community is excellent for active people with lots of activities. However, if you need more help and aren't as independent, it might not be the best place for you. We picked this community because it was close to his home and he was active at the time. I would suggest this place to other families.

"Smooth Transition and Accommodating Staff at Summerplace Assisted Living"
Last week, our dad moved into Summerplace after having a stroke. We've had a good experience so far. From the start, [name removed] really helped us out, making sure Dad's special needs were taken care of and making the move as easy as possible. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. Dad enjoys the food, especially in the dining hall. Whenever Dad or I ask Andrew or any other staff member for something, they always get it for us. Thanks to the staff and Andrew for taking care of Dad.

"Decent, but Lacks Engagement"
This place would be my second pick. It's a little old-fashioned, and the people living here don't seem very involved.

"Disappointing Service and Lack of Attention at Senior Living Facility"
Definitely don't bring your family here. The people who are supposed to be taking care of the elderly residents don't seem to be trained well, and they keep changing all the time. I've even seen them from the residents. The food menu is always the same, and while there are a couple of decent servers, most of them seem to be more focused on speed than on giving proper service to the residents. They let stuff like juice and milk sit out in the open for a long time. Whenever you raise a concern, nobody seems to take any action. The people in charge aren't there most of the time and they don't treat the senior residents well. Instead of helping them like adults, they make them do kiddie crafts. It's obvious that they care more about money than about providing proper care.

"Nice Outside, Long Wait Times Inside Due To Short Staffing"
This place is understaffed and sees a lot of change in management and caregivers. It may look great on the outside, but inside is a different story. Residents wait a long time for assistance due to shortage of staff.

The assisted living community was good, and I have no complaints.

"Wonderful Staff and Care, Limited Wheelchair Access"
It's a great place! We love it here! We only checked out a few places, and we fell in love with this one right away. The administrative staff, especially Grace, is amazing and always keeps in touch. She's always around the residents and ready to chat if anything comes up! The nurse, Norma, is very involved with the patients and their families. The caregivers are all nice and patient. The only downside is that the bus can only fit 2-3 wheelchairs, which makes outings tough. Also, all doctor appointments have to be on Mondays or Tuesdays, which can be hard sometimes. Overall, she gets very good care here and we are so happy.

"Summerplace: Assisted Living Focus and Higher Cost"
Summerplace was decent, but it leaned heavily toward assisted living, which wasn't quite right for my mom. Plus, it cost more due to the assisted living services.
