"Think Twice: Staffing Issues and Mismanagement Alert"

If you care about your loved ones, I'd be cautious about considering this assisted living facility. In 2019, there were several issues with the staff. The way it's run is really mixed up. Grants Pass has other, better options than this place.

"Lovely facility and good food"

For my Aunt, things have mostly gone well here. She enjoys the facility, the food, and the friendly staff. Although some days are better than others, overall she’s doing fine. I’ve eaten with her a few times, and only once in the past two months was the meat dry. The staff responds promptly when she pushes her emergency button. However, her room isn’t very clean; housekeeping only comes once a week, and her visual impairment makes it challenging for her to maintain cleanliness. Despite that, the rest of the facility always looks nice.

"A great place for Dad, a work in progress for Mom"

My dad seems to really like living at this community, but my mom is still getting used to it. Dad has started joining in some of the activities. I’ve tried the food, and it’s pretty good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are nice, and the whole place is very clean. I would recommend this community!

"Wish for More Consistent Staff at Care Facility"

My mom's doing okay living there, but it's annoying to constantly see new faces among the staff. Aside from that, they arrange fun things for the residents to do together and they make nice food. It seems like they're really good about keeping things clean too.

"Good Space, but Food and Billing Issues"

Everything is good for my parents on the independent side. They chose this place because the cottages have enough space for them. They also get three meals, but the food runs out in 20 minutes. They ran out of chicken and we were stuck with liver. When we call, no one answers until the third try. The billing system is confusing; neither families nor staff understand it. They don't offer extra care for those on the independent side.

"WATCH OUT - Poor Conditions and Billing Issues at Brookdale!"

My mom lived at the Brookdale Assisted Living in Grants Pass for 14 years. Honestly, I can't suggest anyone choose this place for their loved ones. Things like clean laundry dumped onto the dirty rug, instead of being put away in her closet, old food and used silverware under her chair near the heater/AC unit, and even used diapers left on the bathroom floor. This place has seriously dipped in quality since Brookdale started running it. Be careful, everyone! After we moved my mom's things out at the end of February 2017, the guy in charge said they wouldn't bill her anymore. But in mid-March when I checked her account, I saw that they had still charged her. So be careful with this Brookdale place in Grants Pass, Oregon.

"Helpful staff, good living space, and activities offered"

My friend recently moved into this community and is adjusting well. The staff has been very helpful with his transition. He now has a bigger room than the small studio he started with. They provide meals, so he doesn’t have to cook often. They also offer many activities, although he prefers not to join in with others. This community is great for independent living and offers transportation if needed. Despite the challenges, I highly recommend this community for families.

"Informative Tour; Facility Layout May Pose Challenges for Residents"

The people who showed us around Brookdale Grants Pass Village were really helpful. They answered all my questions, even talked about everything the place offers before we took a walk around. They have spaces for assisted living and memory care, but sadly they didn't have an available room when we needed it. The place is pretty big, which might make it a bit tricky for my family member to get around.

This is a really great memory care community. They are doing a fantastic job taking care of my mother and meeting all her needs. The place looks nice, and both her room and the community are always clean and tidy. I’m very happy with everything they’ve done for us. I know my mom is safe and well cared for here. They focus on the residents, and everyone is very kind and caring. Overall, everything has gone really well. I would definitely recommend this community.

"Brookdale's sub-par care: A real disappointment"

Do your homework, folks, because you can definitely find better spots for our seniors than Brookdale... I'm gonna pen down my thoughts and send them to our town's paper. My mom constantly ended up wearing clothes that didn't belong to her and there were hardly any activities to keep her engaged... The doctor is seriously not up to the mark...

"Comfortable Living with Friendly Staff"

My in-laws lived here for a year. They were on the third floor. My father-in-law usually doesn't like anything and said it was too far from the dining room and other places. They thought about moving to California but then got a place on the bottom floor. My mother-in-law is comfortable again. My father-in-law has a little dementia and still complains, but they have friends there. I stayed there for three nights and they gave me a room because I was catching a flight back to California. I had dinner with them and only didn't like one meal. Other than that, I thought the food was very good.

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Good Meals"

My in-laws lived there for a year on the third floor. My father-in-law is picky and didn't like the distance to the dining room. But they moved to the bottom floor after considering places in California. My mother-in-law is comfortable, despite my father-in-law's dementia. I stayed for 3 nights and had dinner with them. Overall, the meals were good except for one.

"In-Laws' New Home Brings Comfort"

My in-laws stayed there for a year. They lived on the third floor. My father-in-law is picky. He thought they were too far from the dining room and other things. But then they decided to move back to California and they got a place on the bottom floor. My mother-in-law feels comfortable again. He has a little dementia and he still complains, but they have friends there. I stayed there for 3 nights. They gave me a room because I was catching a flight back to California. I went down and had dinner with them. There was only one meal that I didn't like. Other than that, I thought everything was very good.

"In-Law Live There"

My in-laws lived there for a whole year. They stayed on the third floor. My father-in-law is pretty picky and didn’t like some things. He thought they were too far from the dining room and other stuff. But then they changed their minds (they were checking out places in California) and got a place on the bottom floor. My mother-in-law feels comfortable again. My father-in-law has a bit of memory trouble, and he still complains sometimes. But they have friends there, and I stayed for three nights. They gave me a room because I was flying back to California. I had dinner with them, and there was only one meal I didn’t like. Other than that, I thought the food was good.
