"Clean Facility but Needs Updating Setup Not Ideal for Us"

I visited this place. It was really clean, but not as modern as some other places. The way things were arranged wasn't exactly what we were looking for. It was alright, just not the perfect match for our needs.

"Quiet Activities, Good Location, Convenient Amenities"

Activities used to be slow because of covid but are starting up again now. This place is okay. It's in a good part of town and looks nice inside. Plus, there's a 7-11 right in the parking lot which is handy.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility"

This place is really nice with friendly people. The building looks great and the rooms are super nice. Personally, I'm not a fan of the location. The prices seem a bit high to me.

"Negligence and Poor Management At Elmcroft Assisted Living"

My mom was a resident here for over a year but only experienced quality care initially when it was Brookdale. Things turned sour, quickly, when Elmcroft bought it last spring. The care for my mom, who has dementia, declined significantly. Seemingly, Elmcroft prioritized fancy dining menus over hiring ample staff to take care of their residents. I often found myself cleaning her room, washing her clothes, and changing her bed during the last six months of her stay. Several times, I pressed the call button for assistance only to wait for 30 to 40 minutes. It's terrifying to think what would have happened if my mom ever fell. The manager and one nurse even gave me a tough time through relentless phone calls. My mom would often tell me that she wasn't being cared for properly. There were instances when they didn't even bother to change her out of her slept-in clothes for breakfast. I reached out to the CEO, but he passed me off to another employee in a different state who promised to address my concerns provided I emailed her a list. Nevertheless, despite the email confirmation of receipt, we never heard back from her. I, strongly, discourage anyone who has a needy loved one from choosing Elmcroft. Don't misunderstand me, there were some individuals on staff who genuinely cared for my mom. But they seemed to have no say in how the facility was run. I appreciate those who showed kindness and tried their best in spite of the poor leadership.

"Not Recommended for Top Care"

The staff at this assisted living facility took care of my friend as they should have. The place was clean, but unfortunately, they weren't very cooperative or accommodating. When I needed help, the front desk kept passing me around. The food wasn't great either—it felt like institutionalized food. I wouldn't recommend this place as highly as others.

"Excellent Care and Comfort for Loved Ones"

This place is really nice for my niece. The rooms and outside areas are kept very clean. The people who work here are great and they make sure she has everything she needs. She really enjoys the meals and eats all the good food they serve. It’s a good deal for a wonderful place to live.

"No complaints so far at Brookdale Sellwood."

Things are going well. I don't have any issues with the staff or the place at Brookdale Sellwood. Everything's going really well so far.

"Disappointing Experience at Brookdale Sellwood Assisted Living Facility"

The Brookdale Sellwood has been pretty disorganized overall. The care plan, checking in afterward, and keeping promises have all been lacking. We aren't very happy with this place. Plus, the food isn't good either.

"Kind Caregivers, Poor Facility Design and Management at Brookdale"

At Brookdale Sellwood, the caregivers were nice and caring. But, I had issues with how things were run. My relative has since moved out to live with my brother and he's doing much better. When he first moved in, we didn't know he was really dehydrated and had a UTI. We thought it was just dementia. The people in charge didn't do anything about it, saying that's just how he is. I was often sick and couldn't visit as much as I wanted. They only had exercise once a week. The building's design is not good. There's no big room for everyone to hang out. I believe more exercise would have helped him a lot.

"Friendly Staff and Good Care, Dining Room Service a Bit Slow"

My dad has only been at Emeritus for a short while, but we’ve both been really impressed by how friendly and welcoming everyone is. He’s still getting used to things and has had some issues with moving around, but the staff have been wonderful about checking on him and working with doctors. His only complaint might be that the dining room service is a bit slow.
