Gilman Park Assisted Living

"Mixed feelings: Staff great, cleanliness lacking, slow maintenance, pricey. Recommend with reservations."
The people working there are nice most of the time. When we brought my family member to live there, it wasn't very clean. I had to clean some of it myself. When we ask for things to be fixed, it takes a long time. It costs a lot of money to live there, but overall, I think it's okay and I would tell others about it, but with some caution.

"Staff turnover affects tour quality at Gilman Park Assisted Living"
We went to see Gilman Park Assisted Living, and it was okay. But it seems like they change the boss every six months or something. The person who showed us around didn't seem to know as much as they should have.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
The person who gave us the tour was really great. The place was nice, and the residents were friendly. However, it was quite far away, and it could use a little updating.

"Disappointing Experience at Gilman Park Assisted Living Facility"
If you're a fan of salty, sweet, or fatty food, this place might suit your tastes. But if you're looking for variety or healthier options, you might be out of luck. Beyond the food, the staff turnover and lack of care are major issues. Recently, a few new employees have shown compassion and integrity, but it's too little, too late for some residents. Unfortunately, many staff members seem more interested in their phones than helping clients, and there's been a high turnover rate among employees, with many good ones leaving.

"Good place, but not right fit for her"
It seemed like a good place, but it wasn't a fit for my loved one. She was a fall risk, and a nurse called saying it wasn't safe for her to stay. The outside of the building was really nice, but I couldn't visit inside. My loved one said she loved the people and thought the food was okay. When we moved her things out, everyone said they remembered and loved her. It was a good place until it wasn't. The nurses really cared. When she fell, they took her to the emergency room. The hospital didn't admit her right away, so they sent her back to Gilman Park. That's when the nurse said she needed more care. I appreciated the nurses being honest about her care. They always replied to my emails with updates. One thing I wish I knew before signing was that they require using their drug supply company, Consonus. Before moving in, we got her meds for free or low cost, but then we had a considerable monthly cost for prescriptions and non-prescription items. If there was an alternative, I didn't see it when we signed up.

"Clean and Comfortable Assisted Living with Helpful Staff"
I suggest you visit this community. Gilman Park was really clean. They have a nice dining area. They also have an outdoor space for the residents. The handyman helped my loved one when we asked.

"Poor Staffing and Service for High Cost"
The place is understaffed and they don't provide the care they are supposed to. I am paying a lot of money for my cherished one to be there. I tried reaching out to the new Director, but she was clueless about how to address my worries. I am seeking a new place for my loved one.

"Pros and Cons Revealed"
I didn't like the assisted living place much. It was dark and felt too much like a hospital. The rooms were small, and the bathroom was too far from the bedroom. The common areas were also dark. But the prices were okay.

"Caring Staff, Quick Help, Safe and Supportive Environment"
The staff here are friendly and caring. They quickly help residents when they see a need. Sometimes, residents or visitors need to speak up so the busy staff can notice and assist. Residents often want to do chores by themselves but need help or supervision for safety. They might feel like they're bothering the staff, especially if they have trouble standing, walking, or showering.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Option"
I went to check out the place for my mom, and the person who helped me, , was nice and knew a lot about everything. They showed me around and answered my questions really well. But I heard some things about problems with the workers and how they feel about working there. Because of that, I'm not sure if I want to choose this place for my mom right now.

"Mom Thrives at Gilman Park Assisted Living"
Gilman Park in Oregon City is a wonderful place. My grandma stayed there a few years ago and really liked it. When my sister and I needed a new place for our mom, we checked out Gilman to see if it was still good like it was for our grandma. After we toured the place with their marketing director, we were really impressed! The place is clean, bright, and welcoming. The staff we met seemed very well-trained and happy to be there. We needed to move fast because where mom was staying before was getting worse quickly. So, they helped us move things along fast, and their manager, made sure everything went smoothly when mom moved in. It's been a month now, and she really loves it there! She talks about how great the activities are, the food, and how nice both the staff and other people living there are. I've talked to some of the other people living there, and they say the same things, which makes us feel even better about our choice. I can't tell you how much it means to find a place as well-managed as Gilman Park! Right now, I'm giving it four stars because we haven't been there long, but I'll update this when mom has been there longer and we know more.

"New Management Ruins Good Assisted Living Facility"
My Grandma just moved from this assisted living facility. She had stayed there happily for four years. Recently, a new boss from the company took over and everything has started to fall apart. Lots of reliable employees got let go for reasons we don't know. Others have been quitting on their own. The few caregivers left have to do way too much and you can tell they're super tired. It can take an hour or more to get someone to respond when a resident needs help. Talk to your local healthcare and end-of-life care nurses about where would be best to move your grandparents or parents. You should also chat with physical therapists. Everyone I've asked said they wouldn't let their own family live here.
