"Assisted Living Review: Markham House Needs Better Power Backup"
We really like Markham House. They should get a backup power system to keep the electricity and heat on during long power outages. When the power goes out, the elevator to the 2nd floor stops working. It's been 3 days without power at Markham House, and right now I'm at a hotel taking care of my elderly mother.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Community"
I visited this place. The building and staff were awesome. The people seemed older and needed more help with daily tasks. It wasn't exactly what we wanted for our loved one, but it's still a pleasant spot!

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
At first, things were great. But then, prices went up and quality went down. Families should manage their expectations for what a small staff can provide. Many residents have memory issues, making care challenging. The staff were great at the beginning, but they're under a lot of pressure now, affecting the care they provide.

"Stay Clear of Leisure Care - Poor Management, Careless Caregiving"
We sent our mom to stay at this place for a number of months. I honestly wouldn't advise anyone to use this facility with the folks currently running it. They seem to only worry about making profits, filling their pockets, and keeping the rooms occupied. This is obvious from their refusal to spend enough cash on more caregivers to take care of the residents' needs. This resulted in the caretaking at Markham being awful over the past months of our stay. We sadly watched the place decline. I want to note, however, that there are a few staff members who are genuinely wonderful, compassionate people. Tragically, they are being pushed out by the bad leadership. It's really disappointing. Don't be fooled by the General Manager -she might seem nice and caring - but be wary. Steer clear of Leisure Care.

"Assisted Living Tour Feedback"
I really liked this place when we visited. It seemed like a nice community. We had a nice lunch together, and ultimately, it depended on how they treated my mom. It seemed like a good choice, and I didn't notice anything strange. It just didn't end up being the perfect fit for her.

"Top Choice for Mom!"
This place was close to my home, which I really liked. During my tour, I saw a nice outdoor walkway for all the residents. Everyone there was friendly, including the residents who chatted with us. The staff were helpful and informative, and the whole community was clean and well-maintained. It's definitely my top choice for my mom.

"Assisted living close to parents' library, smaller well-kept facility."
The place feels close and familiar, near parents' library. Busy Capitol Hwy, smaller facility, well-kept. Some units like apartments with outside doors.
