Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living and Memory Care

"Unhappy with Mt Bachelor Facility, Moves Father to Better Place"
I wasn't too thrilled with how Mt Bachelor was run. The staff was nice and tried their best, but it's tough when there isn't enough help. They only had one nurse for over 100 people. During the seven months my folks lived there, they had two different nurses and a new Executive Director. Mom always said the food was just okay, and she was right. After Mom had a stroke and passed away, I spent hours there each day. The meals they gave Dad looked bad and he barely ate. I used to work as a CNA, a Program Director for a living facility, and a Meals on wheels Kitchen Director, so I know the industry. When Mom passed, I moved Dad to another place because I couldn’t stand to watch him at Mt Bachelor anymore. He loves where he is now, especially the home-cooked meals. I can't in good conscience recommend Mt Bachelor for anyone's family.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Care and Management"
My dad moved to this place in August 2021. First problem: they gave away the room we picked next to the elevator. Instead, they stuck us with the farthest room in the building. I asked to switch when another room opened up, but they kept saying it's better to keep him where he is. The caregivers are great, most of them have been here since the place opened. But things have gone downhill in the last 3 months. They lost chefs, important managers, and many long-time caregivers left. The dining room is a mess. The new boss decided to serve people in the dining room first, and leave room trays for last. Now lunch doesn't get to the rooms until after 1:30. Yesterday, they forgot my dad's lunch entirely. If my caregiver and I didn't keep checking, I wouldn't trust the staff at all. I don't recommend this place.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
There's a problem now with not enough staff in the dining room. They should improve how they explain things to new residents. Overall, my experience has been very positive.

"Activities Good, Meals Improving, Staffing a Concern"
When we visit our loved one, there are always lots of activities happening, which is great. We know they have trouble with having enough staff, so the meals and dining experience aren't as good as they could be – the meat is a bit tough. They recently got a new chef though, so things are starting to improve. Sometimes it takes a little longer for them to respond to us, but we hope that once they get more staff, everything else will get better too.

"High Praise for Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living"
Mt. Bachelor is really great. They've been super helpful, caring, and quick to respond whenever we need something. They offer awesome activities if residents want to join in. The place looks beautiful. Overall, it's a fantastic choice, but it's quite pricey.

"Great Community with Friendly Staff and Good Activities"
My loved one really liked the community. The staff got my loved one involved in activities and were great to work with. Our family being advocates helped make sure our loved one was well taken care of. The staff communication was good, but it was hard to know who to contact for specific needs like laundry. Most communication with the staff was verbal, not written. The community provides care like medication management, housekeeping, dressing, and hygiene care. Sometimes, when we mentioned a concern, it took longer than we wanted for the staff to address it.

"Friendly staff and fun activities for residents."
They're doing their best with the staff they have. Caring and activities are great. Before the pandemic, they even had field trips.

"Understaffed facility; slow assistance; not recommended for now."
The big problem is they don't have enough workers, which seems to be a common issue everywhere. My family member can't get out of bed and needs a lot of help, but it takes a long time for someone to come and lend a hand. Based on our experience up to now, I wouldn't suggest this place.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Mixed Experience with Management and Comfort"
This place sits by a busy street, but rooms are cozy. It's a fairly new spot, just 5 years old. Email replies from management take forever, and they're tough to reach. But the workers are friendly, which helps.

"Great community with caring staff and fun activities."
The community is really good, and they truly care about the residents. I’m very happy with the experience. There are lots of activities like flower arranging, concerts, shows, movies, and more for the residents. They even have a weekly activity calendar. The residents also have regular meetings with the chef, administrators, and other executive staff. The food is quite good.

"Assisted Living Falls Short on Promised Care"
Be careful and watch over your loved one. Ensure the community fulfills their care promises. I think the staff didn't check on my loved one enough. When I visited, he didn't seem well cared for.
