"Nile Living Ruined Assisted Facility, Billed for Unprovided Services"
Before Nile Living took over in mid-2023, this assisted living facility was great. Now, it's all about the money, and the residents are the ones who suffer. It's just wrong. The executive director is a bad person through and through. They say they'll provide services and then they don't. But somehow, unexpected charges keep popping up. They just take the money out of the residents' bank accounts without even asking, and they won't give it back. The food is dreadful, there aren't enough staff, and the parking garage isn't safe. They ripped us off, charging over $[removed] for "guest meals" that we never had. They just took it straight from my mom's bank account.

"Great Location and Views in Assisted Living Facility"
I gave the cleanliness a 4 because the building is older and could use some updates to the walls, floor, and carpet. The food options are sometimes limited and not always to my liking, but skipping a meal now and then won't hurt my waistline or health. My main reason for choosing this facility is its proximity (4 blocks) to the central public transit hub a great location. I opted for one of the smallest studios (325 square feet) because it suits my needs and preferences, although I've seen larger ones that are quite nice. The upper floors offer fantastic views.

"Enjoyed Friday happy hours; 'terrace tattler' distribution needs improvement."
I can't compare the value, but I liked the Friday happy hours. They should improve the 'terrace tattler' distribution.

"Needs Improvement in Assisted Living Community"
I chose this community because of its location, price, view, and diverse residents. However, they need to improve building maintenance, food quality, and communication with residents. I wouldn’t recommend it.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"
The place isn't great, but it's improving. Stuff in the apartment wasn't finished. My loved one isn't a fan of the food because it's sometimes bland. Occasionally, there's a decent meal, but they often don't have what's listed on the menu. Overall, it's been tough, and it needs to be updated—it's really old. My loved one doesn't really enjoy being there.

"Convenient Location and Great Views in Assisted Living Setting"
This place is in a great spot, just a short walk from a big transit spot, which was important to me. The building is tall, 17 floors, and the views out the window are really nice. The people who work here have been really good whenever I've needed anything. The food is better than what you'd get in a school cafeteria. Sometimes you have to wait a while for meals, but the servers are really nice. There's a lot of activities if you're into that kind of thing. I think it's a good deal, which is why I picked this place. I got a small studio, and it's a bit small, but it's bigger than other places I've stayed in outside of here. I'm pretty active, so what I want might not be what others want, but for me it's been great. I really like it here.

"Overall, great but needs improvements."
The staff is super nice and helpful. They work really hard and care a lot. But the place needs more employees. The carpets are dirty, trash rooms messy, and there's a bad smell. Only one elevator usually works, and the washing machines break. Still, the staff does an amazing job. The building is fantastic with a big terrace and beautiful courtyard. Apartments are newly renovated. Just needs better upkeep and more staff.

"Staffing Improving, Food Variety Good, Activities Limited but Better"
I’d say there are staffing issues, but they’ve been getting better lately. I’m hopeful for improvement. My loved one enjoys the food variety, though healthier options would be nice. Activities are limited due to the pandemic, but improving.

"Caring and Communicative Staff Make Assisted Living Worthwhile"
The person who interviewed us was really nice. You just need to talk to them about the person coming in, and let them know if there's something you want for activities. Also, be ready to say if your loved one isn't getting enough of something. They're happy to look into it and talk to whoever they need to make it happen. The staff they have are great. Like everyone else right now, they're having problems finding enough people to work. But the food is very good, much better than where my loved one used to be, which is great. I think for the money, it's definitely worth it. My loved one is much happier here.

"Disappointing Management at Calaroga Terrace"
We moved our friend to Calaroga Terrace in February 2020 and were happy at first. But within a month, Covid-related issues revealed problems. The staff cared for residents, but management turnover was constant. We tried to move our friend to assisted care due to her worsening dementia, but communication with administration failed. For her health and safety, we left Calaroga Terrace in February 2021. We found excellent care in a Vancouver, WA family home. The hardworking staff can’t make up for disappointing management.

"Satisfactory Assisted Living Facility with Communication Improvements Needed"
Overall, the community did a good job. There was a problem with the cable during COVID-19, which left residents with not much to do. Communication could have been better after we moved in; we had to start the conversation ourselves. I would suggest this community to others.

"Spacious, but not ground level: 3-Star Assisted Living Review"
The lady named gave us a tour. She knew a lot, was nice, and happy. We liked the big apartment, 2 bedrooms, nice design, granite, and more. But, my mom needs a place on the first floor. The building is tall like a skyscraper.

"Spacious Facility with Some Drawbacks"
The facility is really nice, but it might be too large, so there's not as much personal care available.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Friendly Staff and Limited Activities"
The staff at this place is really nice, and our loved one really likes them. Because of COVID rules, there aren't many chances to get involved with the community, and there aren't too many activities. However, almost everyone in the community has gotten vaccinated, so hopefully, things will start to get back to normal soon. The cost is very reasonable for independent living. Our loved one lives in a studio plus apartment with a small area for the bed, and all the utilities and food are included. The only problem our loved one has is with the food. It's more like cafeteria food than restaurant food, and sometimes it's not the same every time.
