Pelican Pointe Assisted Living & Memory Care

"Friendly Home with Helpful Staff and Plenty of Activities"
Pelican Pointe feels like home to me. I have made good friends and the staff take really good care of us. There are lots of things to do here every day, or you can relax in your own apartment. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. All of us wear pendants; if you press the button, the staff come quickly to help. It's a great place to live. I may be talking a lot, but there are so many amazing things about Pelican Pointe. As I said, this is my home, and I love it here. Please come visit and take a tour!

"Mixed experience at Pelican Pointe Assisted Living, improvements needed"
If your family member can move around and think clearly, Pelican Pointe might be suitable. But if they're dealing with memory loss, it may not meet their needs. There aren't enough aides at night, and response times to call buttons can be long. One morning, my loved one ended up on the floor without anyone noticing. Sometimes, they don't even change clothes before bed. The food is mostly tasty but can be unhealthy, and getting alternatives takes time. If you're involved in your loved one's care and visit often, you can ensure they're looked after. Dining room visits can help you gauge food quality, but the survey system needs improvement. When I'm not there, I have to direct bedtime routines over the phone, and sometimes it's not done properly. We're sticking around for now, hoping things get better.

"Attractive Facility with Friendly Staff and Lots of Activities"
I visited this place while searching for a home for my dad. Ultimately, we didn't choose it because it seemed too large. Although it looked nice, it gave off an institutional vibe. Still, it's appealing with plenty of activities and a full calendar. The staff were friendly and answered my questions well. The tour guide provided helpful information. Overall, I'd suggest this place.

"Extremely Happy with Pelican Pointe"
We are super happy with Pelican Pointe. The staff is really caring and seems to know a lot. We’re also excited that they are part of the Marquis Group, which has a Medicare insurance plan that’s affordable and has good coverage.

"Friendly Community with Great Activities and Care"
My mom is really enjoying her stay at this place. She looks clean and healthy, which is a big change. She likes the activities like clogging and playing the piano. They have a beautiful garden area. She loves watching movies with her friends, and she’s making new buddies. The staff is very friendly and takes good care of her. The food is great too, and I would recommend this place to my friends and family. I also like that they have a support group for families to learn about dementia and understand what mom is going through. The grounds are well-kept and decorated for the different seasons. I give them 4 stars for sure.

"A Positive Start"
Pelican Point is a lovely, cozy place. They organize daily activities for their clients, and my family member in memory care says it's very clean. The dining room there is a bit dull, but they have an outdoor garden area with an umbrella that residents can enjoy. After two weeks, I'm satisfied. Every Monday, they take an outing in the bus to grab coffee or visit the park. The staff is very helpful. So far, so good.

They were very helpful and gave me lots of information. They took time to answer all my questions. I toured both parts of the facility and saw three different types of rooms.

"Disappointment Abounds at Assisted Living Facility"
Initially, the staff at this assisted living facility seemed kind and eager to accommodate us. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. The employees seemed inexperienced and unprofessional. One evening, a member of the staff got upset with my husband and left him alone in the restroom. Given that my husband is a fall risk and struggles with using the restroom due to his medication, this was distressing. On his second day there, my husband opted to have his meals in his room, but we experienced problems with this as well. Several times, he ordered his food but never received it. Matters also got out of hand with his medication, they contacted me when his blood pressure spiked, expecting me to bring his medicine all the way from another state when they should have contacted his doctor. There was also an alarming incident involving a fire alarm and a smoking toaster, with staff seeming clueless on how to react. We will not be extending his stay beyond this initial month. This has been highly disappointing for both of us, as we had hoped this facility could meet our needs. Sadly, we're back to square one.

"The Staff Truly Cares About Residents"
We had a great time at Pelican Pointe Assisted Living & Memory Care. Mom enjoyed going to church, playing bingo, and more. The staff was super caring; they even visited her in the hospital when she got sick and brought her lunch. It was a fantastic experience for both me and Mom.

"Great care, very welcoming, and comfortable; minor front desk issue."
They have really gone above and beyond to help us with our aunt. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Compared to my last experience at another place, I do notice that they’re not always as available at the front desk. But overall, everything at Pelican Pointe Assisted Living & Memory Care has been great, and I would highly recommend them.

"Best Decision for Mom's Well-Being"
We moved my mom to Pelican Pointe in 2014, and it was a great decision. The staff is friendly and caring. Mom is happier, more social, and healthier. The cost is worth the peace of mind.
