"Disappointment with decline in services and communication at Pioneer Village."

Our family member moved into Pioneer Village right before the Covid pandemic started, and since then, we've noticed that everything from the staff to the food has become pretty disappointing. My relative had always wanted to live there, and when it was time for them to join an independent living community, we all felt really happy. But ever since they moved in and Covid started, we haven't had that happy feeling anymore. Pioneer Village keeps giving excuses for why their services have gotten worse, even though my family member still pays their rent. They're even facing a rent increase. We've tried letting Pioneer Village know how we feel, through letters and verbal complaints, and have been patiently waiting for things to get better. However, they've yet to even give us a reply. It's really disappointing considering the residents moved in thinking they'd receive all the services and experiences Pioneer Village promised. This unfortunately, hasn't been the case.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Covid Safety Measures"

Pioneer Village is a great place. We had a tough decision to make during Covid, but they did their best. They even brought us lunch, and we chatted over video in the car.

"Mixed feelings about assisted living facility; room for improvement."

The people who greeted us and managed things weren't very friendly. We weren't sure what went wrong with them. The person at the front desk seemed nice, but sometimes we felt unsure about what she might be doing behind our backs. We talked to the head person when we were leaving the place. I had to wait a month and a half for someone to call me back. After many phone calls, I finally went to the place to talk to the head person. The workers were nice, but the people at the front desk could've been friendlier. The food wasn't as good, and they said it was because of COVID. They did have some barbecues for the people who lived there. Once, my family member got lost in the nearby areas. They had to ask for help at a restaurant to find their way back. The restaurant manager called Pioneer Village, but they didn't want to take responsibility for what happened. They kept saying that the person is in independent living, so they're not responsible. The food was cold, not very healthy, and they didn't give us silverware at the tables.

"Great Experience at Pioneer Village After Wildfire Loss"

My 78-year-old husband and I lost our home and RV in the wildfires in southern Oregon. We were devastated and homeless, with no accessible housing available. I found a website called A Place for Mom and entered our details. Soon, [name removed], who usually doesn’t work on Sundays, called us. Two weeks later, we moved into Pioneer Village, and we’re so happy here! From the first contact with [name removed] to settling into our apartment and enjoying life, everything has been fantastic. The residents are friendly, the staff is incredibly helpful, and the housekeeping and food are excellent. We’re grateful to God for helping us find Pioneer Village!

"Peaceful, Supportive Community for Retirement Living"

My husband and I have been living independently here for almost 10 months and really like this small, close-knit community of caring residents and staff. It’s been easy to make new friends among both. Our apartment is comfortably roomy, and the services have been very good. Despite the challenges of the coronavirus, we appreciate our staff for keeping all residents safe and maintaining our normal activities. This quiet residence has beautiful views, access to pleasant walking areas, and nearby small-town businesses, which has made transitioning from owning a home to retirement very smooth for us.

"Great safety measures and outdoor activities at Pioneer Village!"

The virus hasn't stopped Pioneer Village in Jacksonville, Oregon! Snow, rain, heat, or COVID can’t keep us from visiting Dad! Visits moved outdoors with new, safe covered spaces in the parking lot. The great staff set up tables, chairs, and enough space for social distancing. Many weekly activities are now held outside for everyone to enjoy together. Pioneer Village is doing a fantastic job with safety and cleanliness. Things might look different right now, but everyone’s spirits are high and we look forward to normalcy. Thank you, Pioneer Village, for everything you’re doing.

"Questionable Carpet Choice in Assisted Living Facilities"

The staff is great. Sometimes, though, I wonder if the people who run the office in Portland really understand what elderly people need, especially those in assisted living. They put in a carpet in the hallway and other places that really isn't appropriate for older folks.

"Room for Improvement in Assisted Living Facility Staff Education"

This place is easy to find when I need info about a patient. The staff are nice, but they could learn more about safe transfers.
