"Residents Want More Fun Activities"
The cook we've got is amazing, but she's stuck with a menu from the fancy group, which can be tough to deal with sometimes. It'd be nice if they had more fun stuff for the residents.

"Communication Needs Improvement at Assisted Living Facility"
The assisted living facility has some issues with communication. That's the main problem - they don't communicate well and often don't follow through. It seems like they don't have enough staff, but I know that's a problem everywhere right now. The staff they do have are new and not very experienced, and it seems like they have too much to do. They're friendly, but they seem overwhelmed. There just aren't enough of them to take care of the residents properly, and my loved one has had a few falls since moving in.

"Neglected Mom: No Care for 24 Hours at Assisted Living"
We settled mom into her new home on a Saturday afternoon. Her room was ready, with her furniture already in place. We just brought mom and her personal belongings. A few hours later, her hospice worker came by and realized that no one had come to introduce themselves to mom or check on her. He found a medical technician and brought him to mom's room. After they left, my sister and I decided to stay the night, and we were relieved we did! By Sunday morning, not a single person had come to check on mom, give her her medicine, or bring her any food. We called the public relations person and voiced our concerns. One caregiver did stop by after that. But the first thing she did was ask for mom's name. It seemed like she hadn't even looked at mom's file before coming in. Seeing mom asleep, she left without checking her vitals or taking her medicine out of the room. Later, a kitchen staff member came in to take her lunch order. They delivered it and picked it up later. But we didn't see anyone else. At 3 p.m., I went to the reception and complained. Mom had been there for a full day and had received no care at all. My sister and I had given her her medicine (which was still in its original containers) and helped her with her bathroom needs. After that, three PAs came to mom's room to take care of her. Needless to say, we were hesitant to leave mom alone there. Sadly, she passed away 10 days later. Because of our experience, I'm hesitant to recommend this place.

"Not quite right fit for our needs, small facility."
We don't need help right now. This place is small, so it might not be right for us.

"Small Assisted Living Facility Not Needed Currently"
Right now, we don't need help with daily tasks. This place is pretty small, so it likely won't work for what we need at the moment.

"Poor Care and Communication at Assisted Living Facility"
We had to take our mom out of their memory care place after only a month and a half. She gained 30 pounds in just 2 weeks and her ankles and hands were really swollen. The staff didn't even notice. They put someone else in her room and yelled at her whenever she tried to stay in there. Then they called her doctor to complain that she had anger issues because she was upset about being yelled at. When our mom got sick, they sent her to the hospital. But when we brought her back three days later, they hadn't cleaned up her vomit or diarrhea from the carpet or walls. Her sheets and clothes were missing too. It took them another 3 or 4 days to find her comforter. They don't have enough staff and they're really bad at communicating. They just didn't take good care of our mom with Alzheimer's. We were really disappointed.

"Substandard Memory Care Facility Disappoints With Poor Performance"
After just six weeks we had no choice but to remove our mother from their memory care facility. She had put on a shocking 30 lbs in a mere two weeks, with severe swelling around her hands and ankles. The staff seemed surprised, mentioning they hadn't really taken note of it. They put a roommate in with her who would not stop shouting at her, driving her out of her own room time and time again. They even had the audacity to ring our mom's doctor claiming she had anger issues because she didn't like being berated constantly. When she came down with a severe stomach virus, they sent her to the hospital, but when we brought her back three days later not a thing had been cleaned up. Puke and diarrhea still covered the walls and carpet. Her sheets had mysteriously disappeared, as had half her clothes. Retrieving her comforter turned into a several days long effort. The facility was drastically understaffed and the employees had a shocking lack of communication skills. They simply couldn't provide our Alzheimer-ridden mother with the care she deserved. It was a heartbreaking disappointment.

"Clear Problems And Miscommunication At The Facility"
There were a bunch of problems at the facility. They didn't shower my mom for almost a month. They didn't clean her room or change her sheets, even though that was part of our deal. They just said there was a mix-up. I think they might have some trouble with their workers and need more staff.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
Putting my mom there was tough. Staff should act professional. No personal chats. Mom often unclothed. Others wear her clothes. Jewelry missing. Snacks disappear. Bathrooms need more cleaning. Overall, 3 stars.

"Needs More Professionalism and Better Cleaning"
Moving my mom into this place was really hard for me. I wish the workers acted more like pros and didn't joke around so much. They shouldn't carry on personal conversations when they're working. My mom regularly isn't wearing her clothes but I see others wearing them. Also, her fake jewelry goes missing. The treats I bring for her disappear, too. Plus, they need to clean the bathrooms more often. Overall, I give this place 3 stars.

"Dad Prefers Home, But This Place is Wonderful"
It's a beautiful place, but my dad decided to leave. He wanted to go back home. Overall, the facility is great! I've been there a few times, and the staff was excellent! I'm in Ohio, so my sister was there most of the time, and there were no issues. I think my dad should be there, not at home, because the people there make sure he's safe. But home is where dad wants to be. No changing that!

"Assisted Living Review: Clean, Friendly, but Lacks Food Variety"
I think they're doing pretty well, but my mom isn't totally happy. It's clean, staff is nice, and they're quick to help. She wants more food choices and misses having more people around to chat with, like at her old place. Other places we checked out had more medical stuff; this one's more about socializing. The room layout's just right, and she loves the view.

"Doing Okay, but Not Perfect"
The assisted living place is doing okay, but my mom isn't completely happy. It's clean, the staff is friendly, and they respond quickly. My mom wishes there were more food options, and there seem to be fewer people here compared to where she moved from. That other place had more people to socialize with. This one is less medical-focused and more social. The room layout is perfect, and she enjoys the great view.

"Active Facility with Caring Staff, May Overwhelm Some"
Visited on June 2. This place is big, kind of like Meadowlark, but there’s more stuff happening here. They have cool monthly themes that I really enjoyed. The person showing us around knew everyone’s names and talked super sweet to the folks who needed extra memory help. The one-bedroom we saw looked great. It might be a bit too much for Dad, with everything that’s going on.

"High-Activity Assisted Living Facility with Monthly 'Themes'"
I checked out this place on June 2. It's a bigger place, kind of like Meadowlark, but there's more stuff happening. I thought the monthly 'themes' were cool. Their representative really knew the residents and talked with the folks in the Memory Care section real sweetly. The one-bedroom was really nice. It might be too much going on for Dad, though.

"Friendly staff and bright atmosphere make a great impression"
We really liked how open and bright the place was, and the staff was super friendly. My dad usually needs care around the clock, so we’re unsure if this community is the right fit for him. I visited unexpectedly and was happy to see my dad having fun with other residents and an entertainer. They also have afternoon gatherings. When looking for a place for family, we always visit in person. The two communities my dad has been in take excellent care of him.

"Happy with Arbor Place: Friendly Staff, Good Services"
I'm really happy with the place where my two loved ones stay. One is in assisted living, and the other is in memory care. The building looks nice, and they say the food is yummy. The people who work there are super nice and always ready to help. It's important to make sure you understand who's responsible for what, though. But, I haven't noticed them being short on staff, like some places can be. They've done everything they said they would. Overall, I only have good thoughts about Arbor Place and the people who work there.

"Quality Assisted Living with Minor Cost Concerns"
The cost has gone up since we first started with Dad, and I'm not quite sure why. I think the assessment they did initially was too early. When they raised the cost, it was based on the first month, when his behavior was really bad because of dementia. I believe they needed to adjust his medicine more precisely. We finally got his medicine right, and now everything is going well, so I hope the price will go down next month. I really like her, she's like the supervisor of the caregivers. She's always nice when I call. I like her a lot. Arbor Terrace is like a resort, and the food is really good. We ate there, and it's much better than the food at the last place. It's three levels. They have a small theater room with a big flat screen TV. There's even a pool table and a shuffleboard game. There's a reading area too. They have a memory care section. We toured that side. The lady who supervises it is very good at organizing activities for the residents, and they seem happy. They have a mixed environment where my parents are in assisted living, but if Dad needs to go to memory care, they move him there.

"Working Well!"
The cost of the service plan went up after we placed Dad here. It was confusing at first, but I think it happened because of his challenging behavior due to dementia during the initial 30 days. They adjusted his medication, and now things are working well. Hopefully, the price will decrease next month. I really like Eunice, the supervisor of the caregivers. She's always nice when I call. Arbor Terrace feels like a resort, and the food is much better than our previous place. It has three levels, including a theater room with a big TV, a pool table, and a shuffleboard game. There's even a cozy reading area. They also have a memory care section. The lady in charge there ensures residents have engaging activities. It's a blended environment where my parents stay in assisted living, but if Dad needs memory care, they transfer him there.

"Assisted Living Review"
Recently, the assisted living facility changed ownership. We didn't know about it until afterward. Overall, it's okay, but change affects everyone—staff and residents alike. There was uncertainty about job security during the transition. If I had billing questions, I wasn't sure who to ask. My brother and I thought I'd handle visits, groceries, and appointments for Mom since we live in the same town. Her short-term memory issues make it hard for her to remember small tasks like buying toilet paper. The housekeeping is decent, and the meals are just okay. They do offer activities. A big plus is that the staff understands memory loss issues, which is crucial. We don't want anyone getting impatient with Mom.

"Mixed Feelings About Recent Changes at Assisted Living Facility"
Recently, the assisted living place changed owners. We didn't know until it happened. It's okay, but changes affect workers and residents. We worried about job losses. If I had a bill question, I didn't know who to ask. My brother and I thought I'd help Mom by doing errands since we live close. Without me, Mom might struggle with memory issues, like remembering to buy toilet paper. She's in independent living, with meals and housekeeping. Housekeeping is okay, and meals are just okay. They offer activities. A big plus is the understanding staff, especially for those with memory loss. Mom's memory isn't great, and patience is crucial.

"She, the Sales Manager, Shows Persistence and Quality Care"
I really enjoy talking to She who is the Sales Manager. She has repeatedly gotten in touch with me to try and arrange a visit. I think K should really come and see this place. The starting cost is $2,490 per month for a basic, studio apartment without any care service included. For an additional $375 per month, you get 15 hours of assistance every month which is considered as level one care.
