"Assisted Living Review: Sun Terrace"
We picked Sun Terrace because the lady who assisted us was impressive. During COVID, they did a video tour, which was helpful for my sister and me. She's in a one-bedroom, and it's spacious enough for her needs. Like anything else, you have to learn how they work and find the most helpful staff. Overall, I'd suggest it to others who are searching.

"Sun Terrace Transformed Mom's Life with Great Care and Support"
I've been really happy with the care my mom gets at Sun Terrace. Before moving there, she didn't interact much with others and struggled with remembering her medications and eating properly. Sun Terrace has really helped with these things and more! Now, she's joining in on activities, doing crafts, and even calls herself part of the welcome committee for new residents. Although she doesn’t have dementia, she does have serious mobility issues, and the staff is very supportive. Sun Terrace has helped her reach a healthy weight, keeps an eye on her water and kidney function, and makes sure she takes her medications and eats well. I'm so glad we found Sun Terrace!

"Sun Terrace: Friendly, Caring, and Great for Family Visits"
Sun Terrace has done an amazing job taking care of my mom. They are always friendly and kind, even on her bad days. She loves the activities, especially bingo and ice cream socials. It makes me feel better knowing help is nearby if she needs it. Our family enjoys visiting and having lunch with her. I highly recommend Sun Terrace if you're looking for a loving home for your parent.

"Issues with Medication Management Persist"
Sun Terrace Hermiston has had ongoing issues with their medical services. This year, they forgot to order my mom's prescription for Hydrocodone on time, so she ran out. The medical aides then suggested using Oxycodone instead, which is not acceptable. Where did they get the Oxycodone? Was it from another patient's supply? We've had several meetings with management and the RN about this, but the problem keeps happening.

Communication breakdown
"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living for Dementia Care"
It's a nice place overall, but quite pricey. I'm not sure if it's the best for someone with dementia like my mom. It's more suited for people who are in good health, though I haven't seen many others to compare it with yet. I might start looking for something less expensive that handles dementia better. My main issue is the turnover among aides and the lack of communication between shifts. My mom sometimes needs wound care, and while home health care comes, there are times when an hour or more passes without anyone checking on her. For someone who wears a diaper, regular checks are crucial, and that's my only real complaint.
