"Friendly Staff and Good Meals, but Finance Concerns"
I recommend this place! The staff is super friendly. Housekeeping happens weekly, including sheet changes. Meals are good. My only issue is with the finance department.

"Searching for Better Memory Care"
Waterford is nice, but not perfect for my loved one. Everything is clean and well-maintained. She eats better in social settings, but Waterford Grand lacks enough staff during meals. We’re searching for another memory care option.

"Great Views and Spacious Apartments Ideal for Seniors with Insurance"
Yes, I would suggest this place. However, we couldn't pay for it without Mom's long-term care insurance. Waterford Grand brings the outdoors inside with nice views of the river from many windows. The apartments are roomy, the daily exercise program is great, and they have a memory care unit if my mom needs it in the future.

"Mixed Feelings about Spacious Assisted Living Community"
I visited this place and it looked really nice. It seemed more like a fancy hotel. The person showing us around was super friendly. It's really tall and has a swimming pool and some other cool stuff. The place was clean and felt good. But, it seemed too large and busy for our family member who needs memory care. But, for people who need help but can still do a lot, it might be perfect!

"Not Recommended for Memory Care"
I thought my loved one, who is more high functioning, didn't receive enough attention. The staff needs better training for memory care. Communication wasn't great, and we always had to start it. I wouldn't recommend memory care to others.

"Facility Tour Disappoints with High Costs and Inadequate Covid Knowledge"
The facility is nice, but the staff leading the tour didn’t know much about Covid rules or vaccinations. The cost is way too high, and I’m a capitalist.

"Daughter Gives 5 Stars to Waterford Grand"
Waterford Grand went above and beyond my expectations. My dad moved in 2 years ago and he loved it there. The staff was amazing to him and helped with all his needs. This was super important to me since I live far away. The place is clean, safe, has great food, a beautiful location, exercise room, pool, special events, entertainment, and most importantly, the staff is kind. I highly recommend this place.

""Room for Progress in Medical Attention Needed""
My family member shifted into this living center recently, and things aren't really working out. It seems like they just don't want to handle his health issues and are ignoring issues that require immediate attention. My family member is struggling a lot and I hope the team steps up soon to solve this problem.

"A home for care"
The tour of this place was nice, and the staff seemed confident they could provide the needed care. They have different levels of care depending on the residents. They give a lot of information. The place was clean, and the rooms were nice. The menu looked good, and it was nice to see other residents being active. I would suggest other families to tour this place.

"Too Grand for My Dad"
When I visited Waterford Grand, I thought it was way too big. My dad has trouble moving around, so it wouldn't work for him. Plus, it was super pricey, and I didn't think my dad would feel at home there. It felt like it was trying too hard, kinda like the Trump Tower. It had cool stuff like a heated pool, but it seemed better suited for someone who can walk easily.

"Pretty Decent Spot, But Needs Bigger Memory Care Unit!"
Looking around, I could tell this was a pretty decent place. It had no dirt in sight and everyone, both the people who live there and those who work there, were nice. But one thing did bother me. The area they have for people who struggle with their memory wasn't spacious enough for my family member. Apart from that, it felt like a good place overall!

"Not suitable for quiet seniors; friendly staff, expensive."
We visited this place while searching for a home for my mom. It was a bit pricey and had too much happening. It felt like a carnival with lots of things going on, which wasn't what my mom would enjoy since she doesn't join in activities much. However, the staff was really nice and helpful when we toured.

"Care is good, but staff is distant"
My loved one is settling into the Waterford Grand much better than we thought. When we toured this community last January, the lady in charge was very sweet and followed up with us. We loved her, but she moved away and they replaced her with Shawna. When we moved my loved one in, Shawna showed us around again but didn't talk to any of the residents or know their names. After my loved one moved in, she walked by us three times without even saying hi. Also, we didn't get any help or guidance when we moved in. I am happy with the care my loved one is getting from the staff, but I think Shawna might be in the wrong job.

"Waited Long for Missed Meetup, Found Place Unwelcoming"
This place was a far-off trip for us. We went for a scheduled meeting, but the person we were supposed to meet wasn't there. They didn't even set up alternate arrangements for us. We ended up waiting around for a whole hour for them to find someone else. This wasn't something I was okay with. Also, this place didn't feel very cheery or bright to me.

"Great Assisted Living Facility Growing and Improving Every Day"
Our parents moved into the Waterford Grand in June 2016, and they've been living there for almost a year now. They really enjoy all the great features, like the beautiful views, the roomy dining area, their comfortable and well-designed room, the top-notch exercise equipment, the theater room, and all the elegant decor. The staff has been very helpful. Their room gets cleaned by polite aides, they have regular health check-ups, and other aides assist them at home. They like the meals and appreciate that the chef often talks to residents for feedback. They've joined in on the many special events and activities, and have started making friends. All the employees are friendly, helpful, and quick to respond when needed. The Waterford Grand isn't perfect and has been dealing with some "growing pains." When they moved in, the facility was only about a third full, but now it's over two-thirds full. There have been some staff changes, and new staff are still learning their jobs. Despite these challenges, the staff at the Waterford Grand keep working hard to improve while staying polite and kind. This shows the strong leadership and values of the organization. I think the Waterford Grand is "moving from four to five stars" as it grows from being a very good senior facility into potentially the best one in the area.

"Exceeded All Expectations—A Wonderful Place for My Parents"
A year ago, our family had to quickly learn about new care options for our parents. We held a family meeting to understand their needs and what would make them happy. Their big family home had become too much to manage safely, so we decided to sell it. We set out to find a new place for them, knowing it might not be perfect. We made a list of what we wanted and took it with us during our visits to Assisted Living facilities. My parents had high expectations, especially my father, who was very attached to the home he built. Over two months, we visited 8 facilities in Eugene and Springfield. Our list included: family-friendly environment, resident activities, modern and new, onsite medical care, transportation, a 2-bedroom apartment with a bathroom, kitchen, sitting area, lots of windows, safety, natural setting, a dining room with white linens and flowers, a menu to choose from, friendly staff, involved owners or managers, memory care options, an exercise facility with trained staff, an onsite beauty salon, housekeeping, medication management, and peace of mind. My mother wanted fun and a meeting space for her women’s group. After two months of searching and with our parents’ full support, we chose Waterford Grand. They not only met all our expectations but exceeded them! My husband and I rented an apartment across the street so we could be close. I visit my parents twice a day and enjoy meals with them often. I am grateful every day that my parents live in such a wonderful, safe, beautiful, and fun place by the river at Waterford Grand!

"Not top notch, but they're getting there - B grade."
This new life care home still has some kinks to work out, but it's been doing okay. My mom seems pretty happy there. She likes those who take care of her and the free car rides to her doctor's visits have seriously cut down on my stress. The folks there who organize the fun stuff to do really know their job, me and my wife have been to a couple of these events and they are a blast. The food isn't the best there though. It's not as good as what they had in her old home in Medford. But they do try to mix up the dishes, trying to find out what the residents like. What I don't get is why we have to pay extra for beer and wine, her old place used to give these for free. A little upset that they had no transport service when the bigwigs came in. The residents should matter more.

"Don't bother with this place, skip it immediately!"
This place is so bad! The bosses just agree with everything and the caretakers really have no idea what they're doing. They're always changing managers and always have some lame excuse. I wish I'd never put my dad here.

"Nice Facility, Poor Service and Staffing Issues"
The place looks fantastic, but every other aspect needs improvement. I have a feeling that the staff isn't paid well enough and there aren't enough of them. My dad's room was in a terrible state, with his clothes gone missing and we couldn't even find his shoes. When my mom brought a TV for him, they told her it wasn't compatible with their system, which I think they just made up. They do offer a pool and a workout room and honestly, I'd be willing to pay extra if he could be escorted to the workout room more often. There was an occasion when his diaper hadn't been changed for a while. I'm unsure if he's had the chance to go outside in the last three weeks. At one point, I was told at 10 am that they no longer served breakfast and they wouldn't even offer me a bowl of cereal. The receptionist on the upper floor is really friendly and helpful, but the staff on the lower floor is less than stellar.

"Excellent Facility with Caring Staff and Spotless Rooms"
This is a really nice facility, and I'm very happy with my choice to move my mother here. The place is spotless, and the staff is wonderful. Although it's taking some time for my mother to adjust, we understand it will take a little while. They are very attentive and help with all my mother's needs, and I know their job is tough. Overall, the place is great and has everything the residents need.

"Transition and activities at Waterford Grand exceed expectations"
We looked at several places in the Eugene area. We picked Waterford Grand because it is beautiful, has good food, and friendly, helpful staff. The move has gone better than I thought it would. The staff and residents have included my mother in activities and made her feel at home. She can exercise every day now, which she couldn’t do before she stopped driving. There’s always something happening that she enjoys.

"Waterford is a beautiful, friendly place to call home."
Waterford feels like a resort. It's a gorgeous place to live, and the staff is super warm and friendly. There are lots of activities to join, and the meals have plenty of choices. My mom, who is in memory care, loves her new home and says the aides are very caring. The only downside is the cost to live there.

"Waterford Grand: A Comforting Home for Mom"
The helpers at Waterford Grand are really nice to the folks living there and to their visitors. Sometimes they have substitute helpers, but I think Waterford picks them carefully to find good ones who will stay. One thing that bugs me a bit is that some people there sleep too much, and the beauty parlor isn't open. Also, the rent is high, and the nurse or the boss of the memory care area isn't around much. But, there's this fantastic service called Sacred Heart Home Health Care that's available. They send a Physical Therapist and a nurse to see my mom regularly. It makes me feel better knowing trained medical folks are keeping an eye on her health. Once a week, I take Mom to the big dining room for dinner. The waiters are really nice and always ready to help. Usually, Mom eats in the memory care area. People there can pick what they want to eat from a menu and have it when they want. Most folks eat together, so they can chat. The memory care part of Waterford Grand is safe, with a garden that's fenced in for the folks to enjoy. It's bright and decorated really nice. Mom says she loves the place and the people who help her. She seems happy there.
