"Happy resident, communication needs improvement."
Our loved one really likes the community and is happy there. The communication is good, but it could be better. I would recommend this community to others and already have.

"Poor Treatment at Senior Home, Complaint Filed with Health Department"
This senior living facility on SW 29th St. isn't good at all. Quite simply put, they're not taking good care of residents. There's no water for anyone, which is pure neglect. The place smells musty when it rains heavily, and they try to mask it using really strong cleaning supplies. Staff members are dismissive towards those with Alzheimer's who are trying to find family. They just tell them to go lie down in their rooms. Talk about neglect! Reported missing items include jewelry, and clothes that are taken to be washed never get returned. No effort is made to ensure residents are dressed appropriately for bed. Some heaters work, others don't. The toilets are in terrible condition. This place doesn't have enough employees to actually care for all the people living here. The employees they do have are youngsters only interested in making money, not caring for the elderly. Basima, one staff member, is never seen with a stethoscope. Despite Covid-19 cases present in the facility, families weren't told anything! I've lodged a complaint with the Dept. of Health and plan to get the State to take a look next. I'd recommend searching for a better place for loved ones. No one should be treated like this in their retirement. It's absolutely disrespectful and outrageous.

"Assisted Living Delivers Pleasant Experience for Residents"
The assisted living facility is in a good location. The residents look happy, and the staff is friendly and well-dressed. They cook meals on-site, and the menu has a lot of different choices. There are activities available at the facility, and they have a van that takes residents to do things off-site. There's a nice courtyard where residents can sit outside securely when the weather is good. Medical professionals come to the residents' homes for appointments.

"Deteriorating Living Conditions, Unattentive Staff at Assisted Living Facility"
My experience at this assisted living facility started off alright in the first year. The cleanliness wasn't ideal, but the space wasn't too bad. However, things have taken a turn for the worse recently. I've noticed a decline in care, especially for those folks in independent living. Unresponsive staff and a lack of basic, friendly interaction leaves the residents feeling disregarded. The homes themselves have become rather grimy, giving off a sense of neglect. To make matters worse, the provided meals are less than appetizing. Inside the apartments, minimal effort is put into cleanliness as evident by the filthy refrigerators and untouched dust buildup. Another disturbing sight is the littered patio and alleyway. It took them years to remove a broken refrigerator and pot from the outdoor space, and the cigarette butts accumulate rapidly in the pathway. What's even more alarming is that the management has the power to abruptly terminate leases without any forewarning. Given these unfortunate circumstances and declining service quality, I strongly advise considering alternate living arrangements before deciding to spend your hard-earned money here.

"Missed Appointment and Confusion: Disappointed with Assisted Living Facility Visit"
I went for a tour of the assisted living place but no one came to show me around. I got there early and waited until about 2:15. The lady at the office was nice and told me that the person I was supposed to meet couldn't be reached. I decided to leave because even though the lady in the office hadn't reached her, I had an appointment and expected her to be on time. Just as I was about to leave, the lady from the office came out and said I was supposed to be at a different facility called Emmaus. I showed her my paperwork and explained that I wanted to visit this facility because it's close to where I live. I suggested they call me to schedule appointments at both places, but I haven't heard from them yet.

"Caring Assisted Living Community with Monitoring System"
I enjoy the care provided at this community. The staff is helpful, caring, and attentive. While the rooms could use some improvements, the community overall is clean. We appreciate the monitoring system for residents. We recommend this community to other families.

"Above & Beyond Assisted Living: Good, but Lacks Intellectual Activities"
Overall, Above & Beyond is pretty good. My brother, who’s only 60, needs a place with more stimulating activities. Here, the residents aren’t quite on his level. The owners and staff are really nice though. Whenever I call with concerns, they handle them right away. The medical team here is also very attentive.

The phrase 'family-owned' made me think that the family members took on multiple roles, reducing the number of staff, which isn't beneficial for the residents.
