"Welcoming Assisted Living with a Family-like Atmosphere"
This assisted living facility is really friendly. Everybody, from the staff to the other people who live here, is nice and welcoming. Right from the start, I could see that they really care about my grandfather's well-being. The staff are loving and caring, and they treat him like he's part of their family. The place called Berkshire is clean and feels like home. It's not super fancy, but we feel comfortable living here. The furniture and stuff could use an update, but overall it's not too bad. The staff are always ready to answer our questions and help whenever we need it. The food is simple, but there are plenty of choices available.

"Not the Best Fit"
This community was just okay. It didn't really suit my loved one.

"Great staff and care highly recommended assisted living facility"
Berkshire Commons is a fantastic place. The best part is the staff they were all super friendly and helpful while my mom was here. If I ever needed this kind of care for myself, I’d definitely choose this place. I would certainly suggest it to other families who need help.

"Avoid This Rehab Center: Poor Care & Lack Of Support"
After my Mom slipped and fell, she was admitted into this facility for physical therapy. She stayed there a fortnight before we had her discharged home. They only handed me the admission info package regarding her stay after ten days. Despite asking twice, she was never given a menu to choose her own food. I chose to wash her clothes myself to avoid them getting lost. When she had a doctor's appointment, no staff helped her to my car with a wheelchair. I eventually had to go get one from the lobby. Most times, they left her to take care of herself. The woman sharing her room had it just as tough. I used to work in a nursing home thirty years ago, and I can tell you, the level of care hasn't improved any. Actually, there are fewer caregivers for each patient now than in my time. I wouldn't suggest using this facility for rehab. Better search for another place.

"Quality Slips: Not the Same Place Mom Moved into in 2010"
This place isn't as awesome as it was when my mom first moved here in 2010. They changed cooks and the meals aren't as tasty. A lot of workers have left and the new ones are not so great at their jobs, especially when it comes to checking if residents miss mealtime. The activities they offer are just okay. The only outside trip they plan is to Hollywood Casino. Seriously? They could do better with some educational outings. The only other trip is grocery shopping on Mondays. Considering how much mom pays to live here, if she were younger, I'd consider looking for another spot.

"Poor Care and Hygiene at Assisted Living Facility"
My mother-in-law stays here. She fell over twice, one time it happened in front of an aide when she fell out of bed! The cleaning team isn't anywhere close to being acceptable. Her clothes are continuously misplaced. The toilet was ringed with a black staining. The caregivers are friendly, but they wouldn't help her brush her teeth, nor do they remember our requests for her aid consistently. I highly recommend not sending your loved one to this place!

"Great Care and Happy Residents with Friendly Staff"
I believe the care my father is getting here is good. At first, some care wasn’t provided until I asked about it, but now they are very proactive. My father enjoys the food and seems happy. All the caregivers are friendly and ready to help with anything needed. The facility is clean and has great amenities.

"Assisted Living Struggles with Dad's Needs, May Require Relocation"
My parents moved in here in February 2013. Recently, my dad's condition has worsened. They claim he's confrontational and aggressive. Now, I have to pay someone to stay with Dad from 10 AM to 9 PM every day. The facility lacks enough trained staff to manage Dad properly. I might have to find a new place for my Dad to stay.
