Broadmore Senior Living at York

"Feels like family; staff and activities are great."
The staff really cares about the residents. It's small, like a family. They often have special activities that include the residents' families.

"Caring Staff and Cozy Atmosphere Make Residents Feel at Home"
The staff is really easy to find when you need them, and they care a lot. The place isn't big, only about 60 people live there, so it feels more like home than a huge building. They also like having the families of the people who live there visit, and they plan a lot of fun things for everyone to do together.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I think this place could be good if your loved one only needs basic care. They get three meals a day with choices. But if they need more than that, like extra help, the staff might not have enough people to give them the care they need.

"Helpful Staff and Good Communication at Assisted Living Facility"
It's mostly positive unless you need specialized medical care. My dad faced an issue because he needed more help than the assisted living place could provide. Communication with the community and my family has been good they mainly use email and phone calls. The staff is very nice and helpful.

"Comfortable living with great activities but food could improve"
My loved one feels like they’re on vacation here, with everyone being super helpful and supportive. The staff is great at communicating with the family and quickly answers any questions or concerns we have. However, the food could use some improvement. My loved one thinks it’s bland and would like more seasonings available. They’re not a fan of the powdered eggs, and it would be nice to see more variety and better options. On the bright side, there’s a lot to do! There’s a weekly happy hour, painting, bingo, outings, shopping trips, and more activities for the residents.

"Great food, fast service, and helpful staff at this facility!"
My brother used to be a very picky eater, but now he's eating well, gaining weight, and enjoys the food. He even asked if he could bring in sausage for the kitchen to cook, and they did! They’ve made things he likes and also prepared canned soups I brought in for him. He doesn’t participate much in activities but likes the weekly communion on Mondays and the mass every second Wednesday. The staff was very helpful in setting everything up. I’ve recommended this place to a few people. Even though they didn’t move in, they toured the community. I’m very happy with the facility and staff. They worked quickly to get him from transitional healthcare to moving in, which took only one day instead of the usual five. They acted fast to avoid more weight loss and poor eating. Once I put down the deposit, a nurse came the next morning to assess him. He was evaluated and moved in three days later. The process was fast, efficient, and helpful. He’s adjusting and meeting some neighbors. He’s quiet but is slowly fitting in. The facility offers transportation to doctor appointments within 25 miles, and a flat fee for farther trips, which is very convenient. I told a resident, “If I had to move, I’d want to come here!

"A Pleasant and Supportive Environment for Loved Ones"
The assisted living facility was good. We didn't have big problems. It did what I needed, making sure my loved one ate every day and took his medications. Before coming here, he couldn't do those things alone, or sometimes just wouldn't, and he'd go without until I got home. They have enjoyable activities. Overall, everything went well. The people I spoke with were friendly, and it seems like a good place to live.

"Friendly Staff, Clean Facility, Food Concerns"
The main issue is waiting for help. They don't have enough staff, so sometimes you wait an hour instead of the promised seven minutes. My family thinks the food quality is low, but the staff and residents are friendly. The facility is clean, and the rooms look good.

"Elegant Facility with a Personal Touch"
We visited Elmcroft of York, a delightful facility. While I appreciated the elegant furniture, it wasn’t what my loved one wanted.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
The workers were nice, but sometimes the nurses seemed inexperienced. Food was good, but value was just okay.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"
This place changes workers a lot, and they don't take good care of medical stuff for the people who live here. They're just okay at talking to you, but they're slow to call you back. If your family member can do everything by themselves, this place might be okay. Otherwise, I'd find somewhere else.

"Positive experience with Elmcroft of York for challenging conditions."
We picked Elmcroft of York because they were the only ones who would take him given his condition. It was a brief stay, but we had a positive experience. I would suggest them to others searching.
