"Inconsistent staffing and accessibility issues, room cleanliness needs improvement."
The workers were often short-staffed. Waiting for help took a long time, especially on weekends. Sometimes, temporary workers filled in, but they weren't always able to help properly. Some of the full-time staff were great, but they were the exception. Showers were sometimes missed because there wasn't enough help. The place wasn't set up well for people in wheelchairs. Counters and the fridge were too high, and there were curbs in the showers. It was hard to reach the sink. The common areas were well taken care of, but my mom's room wasn't cleaned regularly.

"Friendly Community Essential for Mom's Care Decision"
The community is really friendly. We chose it because my mom needed extra care after hospitalization. They visited her. Without that, she wouldn't have moved.

"Mixed Experience with Meals at Brookdale Northampton"
My friend at Brookdale Northampton has shared their experience with the meals and dining service. Regarding activities, I'm unsure as my friend hasn't participated yet. Overall, Brookdale offers a cozy environment with friendly people, which I would recommend to others. My friend has settled in well, though the food could be better. Nonetheless, I'm glad my friend feels safe at Brookdale.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I didn't like the care. It felt like a sales pitch. They didn't do enough. Some days my aunt was neglected. They left her in dirty diapers. They didn't communicate well about her returning from the hospital. They wanted more money without improving care. They charged for the time she wasn't there. They didn't schedule meetings as promised. Staff were sometimes nice, but overall, it was a letdown. They asked for more money when my aunt needed little extra care. They didn't justify the increased cost. They fed others who needed more help for free. They overcharged for basic care tasks. They sent my aunt to the hospital without clear reasons.

"Mixed experience, room satisfaction, staff shortages, improvement potential, helpful admissions."
I like the room. It took a while to sort out my loved one's care, but things are getting better now than day one. We pay for certain care, expect clean rooms, and laundry done. But they struggled with not enough staff, and Covid made things harder. Food's okay, but healthier options and variety would be nice. Activities director is great, residents love him. Nursing has limitations, some things we have to do ourselves. I feel I need to be there more often. Admissions person was kind and helpful, but some promises aren't kept. They're trying to improve, so I hope things keep getting better.

"Brookdale"
Our visit to Brookdale was nice. The staff was friendly and acted professionally. The building is very tall and has lots of floors. It's also located in a crowded part of town. We were hoping for a smaller place that feels more like home.

"Great community, friendly staff, and affordable care—highly recommended!"
We picked Brookdale because it felt like the best place for my dad. It looked like a lively community with lots of people, and everyone—both staff and residents—seemed really friendly and welcoming. Plus, it was affordable for us. My dad is really happy here and says he’s getting excellent care. I would definitely suggest Brookdale to others.

"Satisfied with Community, Wishing for More Outings"
My family member is doing well here. He likes it and I'm happy. I know he's safe. The staff is nice and helpful. They serve good meals. There are fun things to do, but I wish they'd go on more shopping trips. That's my only complaint. Overall, it's a nice place I'd recommend.

"Nice place for seniors, some room for improvement."
My mother-in-law needed some time to get used to living at Brookdale. Sometimes, when she needs help and presses the button, the staff take a little while to respond. I think they might not have enough staff. But they do have activities every day, and they're helping her learn to walk better. She likes the food, and the place is always clean. You might want to check out this community to see if it's right for you.

My 92-year-old mom's staying there while her ankle heals. She likes the food and most of the staff, but sometimes it takes a while for someone to help her when she needs it.

"Loved this place!"
Brookdale Northampton was really nice, and we loved it! It felt very homey, and everyone we saw seemed happy. They had a big dining room with assigned seats. If it was closer, we probably would have picked it because it was a great value.

"Exceptional Staff, Beautiful Facility, Minor Odor Issue"
This place has amazing staff, especially the people in charge. They've been really good at talking to my family about our parents. The building is really nice, with lots of cool stuff inside and nice views outside. The only problem is that the entryway always smells like pee, which is gross. But I told the staff about it, and they promised to fix it soon.

"Brookdale Northampton: Smelled Bad, Felt Like Hospital"
The person who showed us around was really nice and knew a lot about the place. But Brookdale Northampton didn't give off a welcoming vibe - it kind of smelled bad. The rooms there were pretty tiny and it seemed more like a hospital than a home.

"Accepted with Open Arms"
Even though Brookdale Northampton isn't the newest building, it has a very welcoming vibe when you walk in. It felt so comfortable and clean. All the staff, from aides to nurses and office workers, were very friendly and caring. They accepted my mom with open arms into their community, which I really appreciated. I would gladly recommend this place to friends and family.

"Toured Different Assisted Living: Nice Staff, Nursing Home Feel"

"Compassionate Staff Makes Transition Smooth for Mom Grateful Family"
The Broodale Northampton staff was really helpful and supportive. Michaele was especially kind and went out of her way to help my family place our Mom in an apartment. Even on her days off, she spoke to us and sent emails to keep us updated on the process and paperwork. Her support made this tough decision and transition easier for us and our Mom. Thank you for being such a great facility with wonderful staff.

"Unpleasant Smell and Unclear Pricing - Mixed Feelings"
The place had a weird smell that I didn't like. It didn't stink, just not my preference. Also, didn't like that prices weren't given during the tour; had to ask later.

"Friendly Staff, But Disorganized and Busy"
The assisted living spot is pretty good. The folks there are super nice and always ready to lend a hand. But, it’s kinda messy when it comes to paperwork and finding the right person to talk to. Trying to set up a time to see the nurse is really tough. Since there’s just one nurse for everyone, she’s got a lot on her plate. When we finally got a hold of someone, they were real sweet and took our needs seriously.

They were nice, but having a dementia unit downstairs wasn't ideal for Mom to live daily. The place was clean, and the management seemed strict. It wasn't bad, but Solana suited our needs more.

"Follow-up issues hinder otherwise pleasant assisted living experience."
It seems like there's too many people involved and nobody's taking charge. Even though they're friendly, helpful, and the environment is nice, they promise things that never actually get done. It's frustrating because they do take good care of my loved one when they remember, but they need to follow through better.
