"Inadequate care led to bed sores; wouldn't recommend for anyone."
The care wasn't good. Grandma got three bed sores, and one was really bad. If we hadn't taken her to the doctor, they might not have helped. And we didn't even know about it until then. I wouldn't even send my pet there.

"Amoroso: Polite, Caring Staff"
I can’t complain about Amoroso. The staff was super polite and treated my dad really well. Some even went above and beyond. If I had to choose again, it’d be Amoroso.

"Disappointed Experience: Amoroso Wellness Tour Review"
I really didn't like Amoroso Wellness. When we went for our tour, nobody said hello. They just stared at us and didn't speak, which was really off-putting.

"Memory Care Fell Short Despite Beautiful Facility"
Our family visited in person. The place is really nice and clean, but the memory care part wasn't quite what we needed.

"Cozy, helpful, and pressure-free experience for mom"
Amoroso feels like a cozy home. It's been great for my mom, and she feels comfortable there now. A Place for Mom was super helpful and knew a lot about finding Amoroso. No pressure, just there to help.

"Family-Friendly Assisted Living with Excellent Communication and Value"
We recommend this community to other families. When our loved one's medications change or there are updates on COVID, they always give us a call, which we appreciate. We haven't eaten there ourselves, but our loved one seems happy with the food. They go to the dining hall for meals, which helps them stay active and social. There are activities available, but residents aren't pressured to join them—you can see the schedule by the elevator. We think it's a very good value for the money.

"Good facility but understaffed; professional, recommend to others."
The Amoroso Wellness at York is a good place; I'd suggest it to others. The staff are professional but understaffed, like many places.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Mixed Feelings but Room for Improvement"
This place has friendly folks and a good setup, but they don't have enough staff. The second floor often smells bad. I wish they had more workers; things would be smoother. Also, I didn't realize how sick my dad was until it was almost too late.

"Short-staffed, Cleanliness Issues in Assisted Living; Kind Staff"
The people were nice, but there weren't enough staff for all the residents. Also, the place could be cleaner, especially the second floor because it smells like pee.

"Food Quality Decline Impacts Overall Satisfaction"
We checked out a few places before picking this one. It's in a great spot for our family visits. Mom's settling in okay. It was a big change, but she's managing. She's trying out some activities, doing her best. She enjoys the people here, both residents and staff. The food was really good at first. But they lost their main cook, and now it's not as good.

"My Visit to the Community: Friendly, clean, but too much walking."
This community seemed nice when I visited. The people were friendly, and the place was clean. However, things were on different floors, and there was a lot of walking. This layout wouldn't work for us.

"Nice place."
My mother-in-law has been at the dementia center for about 6 weeks. She's adjusted nicely. The staff has met our needs very well. We've asked for some comforts for our mother, and they were more than happy to accommodate us. She gets three meals a day, and she enjoys eating them. She attends the daily planned activities; some interest her, while others do not. Her care is okay, and only a few times have I had to mention my concern about changing her brief. In their defense, my mother-in-law does not always tell them when she's going to the bathroom. I would definitely recommend the Brunswick Dementia unit for your loved one. Thanks for your care. Being a nurse's aide in a dementia unit is very hard work, and I thank them daily for the care they give our mom.

"Mom’s Care"
Mom’s been at this place for a month, and they’ve been really easy to work with. They’ve adjusted to her needs, made changes when necessary, and she’s enjoying the food. It’s a new unit, just a month old, so they’re still learning. We wish they had 24/7 staff, but it’s a 20-bed unit. Overall, Mom’s care is going well, and we appreciate it.

"Great Care for Mom with Alzheimer's"
We have had our mom there for a month now. She is adjusting as well as can be and is being cared for wonderfully. I have asked for many changes to better accommodate our mom's needs. They graciously made the changes, like placing a grab bar, raising the toilet seat, and several other comfort needs for her. Their ratio is 10 to 1, but sometimes there are two people helping. They are starting to get a routine, which is very important for Alzheimer's. It is brand new, just one month old, very clean, and pretty. The staff is learning everyone’s needs. I go every day but will be backing down as I see her needs are being met. The rest of our family goes every week, so there is daily visitation. Unfortunately, our mom never remembers she has visitors, but it’s very important for us to know she is being cared for. My advice: visit frequently even if they don't remember, ask questions, and keep an eye on clothing as it sometimes gets lost. Do not bring good jewelry as it can be lost by the client. I highly recommend Brunswick of York dementia unit. Financial rating: $$$. Thanks for caring, Brunswick.

"Happy with this place; need to improve the food."
Overall, it's a good place. My mother has been there since April 15th and mostly takes care of herself. They check on her regularly. The socialization is great; she's meeting new people. The only complaint is the food—it's not hot and overcooked. Overall, I'm happy with the place. I feel she's safe and I'm satisfied.

"Nice place, overall"
We’re pretty happy with Brunswick at Longstown! They really look after the residents, the food is tasty, and our loved one is content. The only hiccup is slow response times when you need assistance.

"Lacking Activity Encouragement in Assisted Living Facility"
We stayed here for two weeks. People were friendly and managed medicines well. But they didn't encourage my loved one to be active. They hardly walked and didn't push to participate.

"Warm Welcome and Experienced Staff at Assisted Living Facility!"
I was really impressed by how welcoming they were here, from the first interview to moving our loved one in. The staff we met were all so friendly and helpful! I also noticed that the staff have been here for a long time. High turnover can be an issue at places like this, but it seems like the staff here really enjoy their jobs and know what they're doing.

"Unsatisfactory Care: Can't Recommend This Facility"
My Mom's been having some big issues with her care at this place, and I can't say I'd tell others to come here based on what's happened. The place is neat and tidy, and a few of the workers (especially the person in charge of activities) are really kind. But, we constantly feel like we have to keep reminding them to make sure Mom gets the help she needs. She's had some health problems, and even when we tell them about extra help she might need, like getting a new bag of ice at night, it just doesn't happen. It feels like they don't really care enough for my Mom. I kinda feel like they think we're a nuisance, and they'd rather not have to handle us. I can't relax knowing that my Mom is in a place where they might be ignoring her because they're annoyed.

"Friendly staff, good activities, room for improvement in cleanliness."
My mom got a room here after leaving the hospital, and we feel lucky about that. It's been three weeks, and she's still getting used to it. The staff is nice and helps out a lot. There are plenty of activities, although Mom hasn't tried them all yet. She's made some new friends, which is nice. Sometimes her bed isn't made, so I do it when I visit. We looked at five other places, but this one suited us the best. Overall, it's a good place, and the staff always tries to help if there's a problem.
