"Content Overall, But Some Services Missing"
“[Name removed] is mostly happy where she is. She didn’t want to move to another place because she’s made friends. They don’t have a hairdresser, just a barber, so we need to go elsewhere for her haircuts. The staff could be better at talking to each other. But the good thing is, she’s always clean, gets her medicine on time, and she’s safe.”

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The apartments are nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dining together is good for making friends. Activities and trips are offered. Nursing care is slow, especially for bedridden patients due to understaffing.

"Mixed Experience at Deer Meadows Retirement Community"
Deer Meadows Retirement Community was just okay. They didn’t have enough staff, which made things difficult. Some improvements could have been made. I’d recommend chatting with more people there.

"Poor Service and Cleanliness at Deer Meadow Assisted Living"
Deer Meadow Assisted Living has a single phone number you must use to contact anyone. When you are redirected from that number and leave a message, they are never answered. The cleanliness in the rooms is a real problem. Also, some personal items and electronics have disappeared from the resident rooms, and nobody is giving straight answers. I had hopes that the new management would improve things, but there's been no change. I just want my husband to receive the care he needs and the life quality he deserves. We didn't send him here to decline in health, we hoped he would improve. Additionally, the physical therapy aspect is problematic. I'm still holding onto the hope that things will get better. The five-year-old reviews are outdated with no current insight.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
We visited in person and didn't like it much. The activity area was too far from where people live, and the dining room looked old and dirty. It's an old place.

"Nice Place, Great Staff, Terrible Food, No Activities"
This place is nice to look at and well-maintained. But since the lockdown, it's changed a lot — it's like a deserted town — no fun stuff to do, no chance to work out which has made my health issues worse. The helpers here are great. The food is awful. I thought it was bad when I first got here a year and a half ago; but now it's pretty much unbelievable or barely edible. I mostly just eat toast and drink coffee.

"Elderly Woman Plans to Sue Assisted Living For Overpricing and Poor Services"
The staff is friendly, especially to an elderly woman like me! I live in a tiny apartment that I clean on my own. There are eight bigger units on the fifth floor that comes with a full kitchen, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, 1.5 bathrooms, and 1-2 bedrooms. However, they don't cost what that mean, uncaring manager priced my tiny apartment when I moved here a year ago. It feels like I've been living here for a decade. My health isn't great; I've got a heart condition and my rent and board is $2,760 per month. Their food is inedible, it tastes awful! The manager won't lower my rent even after I lost someone to dementia. It's a shame that I have to use my entire federal employee pension and social security to live here. I plan to sue this terrible place. I won't let the manager stress me to death. She doesn't care! I know this place is owned by some rich men from New York. I'm going to sue them too! I need help. I'm 85 years old!

"Great Assisted Living Facility with Diverse Care Options"
This big place has different care levels depending on what you need. A security team member showed us around, pointing out all the buildings and talking about services, activities, dining, and more. It's definitely worth thinking about.

"Aged Facility Falls Short on Cleanliness and Appeal"
This place wasn't as clean as the one we picked. It's old. The person who showed us around was nice. But I don't think it's right for my loved one.

"Large Facility with Friendly Staff and Gift Shop"
This place looks really nice, but it's so big. I worried if my aunt would get enough attention. The rooms seemed a bit cramped compared to other places we checked. They have a cute gift shop, though. The staff were friendly and chatted with the residents.

"No Mess, Just Care"
My mom is okay in their dementia unit right now. The staff really get what she needs. They do an excellent job keeping everything clean, cooking tasty meals, and organizing activities for the residents. I’d definitely recommend it to my family.

""Decent Facility But Requires Strong Advocacy for Skilled Nursing Residents""
My folks briefly used assisted living and mainly received long-term care from the skilled nursing area since late 2015 at this facility. The assisted living apartments are pleasing to the eye and the rooms in the nursing area are brighter and look nicer than many other places we saw. Most of the workers are kind, caring, and sociable. However, after talking to some long-time residents and their families, we learned that the place isn't as great as it used to be since the change in management. The food usually isn't tasty, isn't high quality, and it's not consistent. The nursing area seems to always have different nurses and aides, some from agencies. The staff don't communicate well with each other or with our family. Most of the workers caring for residents seem to genuinely care, but they are too few and seem unhappy and overworked. I saw them make mistakes giving my parents medicine and helping them move around. There are a small number of trusted, reliable staff left whom we feel comfortable with, and they are wonderful. What I've learned is that this place is an okay facility, better than some others, and fine if you're in the assisted living program. But, I would be nervous leaving my frail parents entirely under their care without a strong advocate and watchful eye.

"Avoid Deer Meadows: Priorities Misplaced, Care Lackluster"
This facility is a huge letdown. It's clear that a good number of the employees just don't have the heart for the people they're supposed to be caring for. Only one person on Ground A is treated with any kind of urgency; if he or his family raises a fuss, the staff scurries around to satisfy his demands. The rest struggle and endure while his needs are prioritized, and I find it completely disgraceful. My dad has been here for almost two years and I've honestly lost count of the days I've spent with him here. If I had known how chaotic and uncaring this place was, I would've never entrusted them with my father. I'm writing this review to warn other families, in hopes that it can help. I urge you not to place your loved ones in Deer Meadows. Despite their self-proclaimed 5-star status, the reality is far from it.

"Positive Experience Since November 1st: Safe, Friendly, and Supportive"
Our experience so far has been really good. [Removed] has been amazing, helping us find the right apartment, going over financial details, and making the move-in process smooth. The apartment was fresh with new carpets, paint, and it was spotless when we arrived. The maintenance and housekeeping teams were cheerful and helpful with everything we needed. There’s a flat screen TV in the living room, and Mom got to choose whether to keep it on a table or mount it on the wall. She even has her own washer and dryer now, which is great because she couldn’t use the old ones due to dangerous stairs. Mom has adjusted well and feels very safe at Deer Meadows. She says the staff is kind and caring, and the food is good. She’s even gained five pounds, which she needed. Everything has been great since she moved in on November 1st.

"New Management Ruins Quality of Assisted Living Facility"
My mom has been in independent living for a decade. She's healthy and actively involved in the community there. However, everything changed when a new management team stepped in last year. Their lack of prompt responses to issues is truly upsetting. There's been a noticeable drop in the quality of meals and the number of recreational activities. My mom often complains about the food running out in the kitchen or being served cold, dry, and sometimes, practically inedible. We have had to supplement her meals so she'd still be able to have meals in the dining hall with her friends. Sadly, since all her funds are tied up in this facility, she can't just pack up and move. I would not suggest this place for elderly living going forward.
