"Friendly staff and clean, but the place feels old"
It was very friendly, and the place was clean, though a bit old. They’re fixing it up and making improvements, but my mother didn’t feel quite at ease. The single room was a good size for a twin bed, two chairs, a dresser, and a TV, plus maybe a small fridge and microwave. The cost was reasonable.

"Great tour, friendly staff, happy residents, newly renovated rooms."
I had a great time touring Elderwood. [Name], the community relations coordinator, spent a lot of time with me. The residents we talked to seemed very happy, and the staff was friendly and helpful, even though they were busy. My favorite part was the third floor, which looked newly renovated. They have lots of activities, outings, and other services. I can see my mom being very happy living there.

"Clean Facility, but Mobility Required"
You need to be able to move around easily here. If you have trouble getting around, this might not be the right spot for you. The place is clean, though.

"Great choice thanks to local advice and caring staff"
Finding the right place is tough, especially from another state. I had to depend on online info, but luckily, a friend had family nearby who knew about this place, so that’s why I picked it. My friend is happy with the community. Her family visits her, takes her out, and she enjoys the food there. The staff appears very nice and caring.

"Underwhelming Tour of Aged, Packed Retirement Home"
When I took a tour, the community seemed quite gloomy to me. It's old and feels too packed. They only provide rooms about the size of a small studio apartment. However, the people who work there are really friendly. I don't think it will be a good fit for my mom and dad.

"Elderwood Senior Living Review - Lancaster, PA"
We had a good experience with Elderwood Senior Living at Lancaster. The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean. The activities and programs are fun and engaging for the residents. However, there was one problem. My grandmother has to move herself in a wheelchair, but she can't do it on her own. This made it hard for her to get around and join in activities. Overall, it's a nice place, but it would be better if they had more help for people who can't move by themselves.

"Helped Mom Reach Her Best Level"
They have helped my mom a lot. They really helped her reach her best level. The cleaning staff is always busy cleaning. It's a small and nice place. I think they helped her get to a good level. The parking and location are good. Communication with the staff has been good, but not great. I'm thankful I could get her in. I'm grateful to A Place for Mom for referring me here.

"Lacks Warmth and Homeliness: Not Ideal for Mom's Needs"
My mom didn't feel comfortable here; it seemed too much like a nursing home rather than an Assisted Living Facility. The building's exterior was dull, resembling a business office more than a cozy home. The atmosphere inside wasn't welcoming or cozy.

"Feels More Corporate Office than Cozy Home for Elders"
My mom didn't fit in here, it felt more like a traditional nursing home instead of an Assisted Living Facility. The exterior of the building was so simple, it seemed more like a corporate office and not a "home". It lacked the cozy, welcoming vibe.

"Affordable private rooms, but food and activities need improvement."
They were the cheapest for private rooms. The food's dry with small portions; too much cheese. More engaging activities needed. No bad smell. Nice courtyard for outdoor time.

"Friendly Staff and Great Food in a Cozy Assisted Living Home"
I found the staff here to be really friendly and helpful. They treat each resident as an individual and do their best to meet everyone's needs, which makes it feel like home. The food is delicious, and the dining room is small and welcoming, not like a big, noisy cafeteria. This makes it easy to meet and chat with other residents. The place offers good value, though a few changes could make it even better. It's located in a nice part of Lancaster and is close to many places to visit and things to do.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility"
My family member seems happy here, which matters most. They don't seem as attentive as his previous place, I wish they'd check on him more. But they're good with his meds. Staff is friendly and professional. The facility looks nice. Seems like they offer lots of activities, but he doesn't join.

"Assisted Living Has Active Community, But Some Smokers Present"
This place seems nice. There are a lot of younger, lively people. I noticed some folks who smoke. They have an exercise room, a movie theater, and more.
