"Excellent care and clean community with virtual visit options"
I have great things to say about this community. COVID restrictions made it tough to visit my loved one. Because of their medical issues, communication is challenging. The staff is polite, respectful, and knows their stuff. I haven’t heard of any COVID outbreaks here. They treat the residents well and keep the place very clean. They also offer virtual visits with family.

"Understaffed Assisted Living Facility Unable to Meet Resident Care Needs"
After accepting my mom as a resident, the place gave us a short thirty-day notice that she must leave. They say they no longer can offer the extent of care she requires, even though we were clear about her health state before she joined. When my stepdad went to the hospital, it unsettled her deeply. The staff responded by insisting we had to stay with her all the time - an impossible task since we all work and had chosen this place for its 24/7 coverage. Mom's diet has diminished greatly, and the staff hasn't stepped in to improve the situation. On a recent visit, my sister found spoiled yogurt sitting out for her. We've taken to changing her bed linens ourselves. One time we visited, we discovered her bathroom hadn't been cleaned after she'd used it, leaving us to handle the mess. Concerning medication, the place seems to up the dosage whenever my mom's behavior alters, which raises serious red flags for me. As for social involvement, she doesn't get to participate in any offered activities. Apparently, there aren't enough hands to escort her. Speaking of staffing, it seems they are constantly short-handed. The same nurses preparing meals and doing cleaning duties are also supposed to administer the care plan. To say this is a worrisome scenario is an understatement. They clearly can't focus their energy on patient care when they're juggling other tasks.

"Neglected and overmedicated residents due to staff shortage"
They've given us a 30 day notice declaring that my mom has to leave. They initially accepted her, but suddenly tell us she must leave because her requirements surpass what they can provide. We absolutely transparent about her health upfront before the move, but nonetheless, they accepted her as a resident. During my step dad's hospitalization, she was distraught. The staff requested that someone was with her all hours of the day and night, the very reason we turned to this community since our work hours prevented us from doing so. She doesn't eat much, and they aren't helping in regard to that. My sister visited once and found spoiled yogurt they gave to our mom. We replace her bedclothes ourselves. Once we visited and discovered that her bathroom was left dirty after she used it and we unfortunately had to clean it. They routinely up my mother's medication dosage whenever she displays behavior changes, something that is of concern to me. They never take her to attend the center's activities since they are short on staff. They have a staff shortage, and it's the nurses who prepare the meals and do all the cleaning. This is troubling because it's impossible for them to give their full attention to the residents' care needs.
